Test Equipment Development Technician

Position Overview:

The Test Equipment Development Technician is responsible for the integration of payload systems, conducting ground testing, supporting flight test preparation and execution, operating test equipment during ground and flight testing, collaborating with engineers and senior technicians, and assisting in preparing and maintaining test setups of UAVs.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Design Test Equipment to enable Acceptance testing of Systems/Sub-systems/products.
2. Design and Develop Test Bench Layout.
3. Verify compliance with specifications, standards, and customer requirements.
4. Design and coordinate Data Packs for Test Equipment Components.
5. Design PCB Layouts for Test Equipment.
6. Integrate and test designed Test Equipment.
7. Collaborate with Engineers and other Technicians to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
8. Ensure compliance with safety and quality regulations and standards (e.g., ISO Standards).
9. Provide training for operators of dedicated Test Equipment.
10. Create CAD drawings and illustrations to support prototype development and product specifications.
11. Maintain comprehensive records of equipment maintenance history, including service logs, work orders, and inventory documentation.
12. Perform component-level troubleshooting on electronic systems.
13. Test Systems as per Acceptance Test Procedures (ATP).

Education & Experience:

1. Associate’s degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Aerospace Technology, or related technical field (or equivalent experience).
2. Minimum of 6-7 years of experience in design and development of specialized/dedicated Test Equipment, preferably in UAV, aerospace, or electronics industries.
3. Hands-on experience with electrical and mechanical test equipment, including oscilloscopes, power supplies, multimeters, signal generators, and other diagnostic tools.
4. Basic understanding of UAV systems and components (electrical, avionics, propulsion, etc.) preferred.
5. MS Office proficiency.
6. Proficiency in using CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and Altium) for test equipment design support and modification preferred.
7. Familiarity with standard electrical and mechanical test procedures and instrumentation preferred.
8. Experience working with automated testing systems or programming languages (e.g., LabVIEW, Python) is preferred.
