Position Summary:

To deliver a quality and fun tennis coaching programme to both adults and children of all abilities according to Advantage Sports standards and procedures.

The coach will have many specific objectives but each could probably be grouped into four major categories:

1. To provide personal and social development for lifetime skills.
2. To develop and improve the technical and physical skills of tennis.
3. To provide a fun and enjoyable environment.
4. To orient young people to assist achieving their goals.

Duties & Responsibilities:

1. Tennis coaching for daily and/or weekly tennis lessons/group classes.
2. Coach for tennis camps (during school holidays) if and when requested to do so including tennis development and promotion.
3. Ensure sufficient time is spent planning and preparing for tennis lessons at the appropriate playing level.
4. Identify participants' tennis abilities.
5. Advertising for all Advantage Sports Services tennis programs.
6. Ensure safety standards are followed in all sessions.
7. Provide explanations and demonstrate tennis techniques to students.
8. Set ground rules before each lesson.
9. Correct tennis technique faults and identify ways to improve performance.
10. Evaluate lessons and give feedback after each lesson to the respective parents/students.
11. Working a minimum of 6 days per week, 40 hours in total (36 hours on the court and 4 hours administration and development).
12. Assist with creating the top Tennis Academy within Abu Dhabi and Dubai.
13. Ensure all tennis lessons taught by Advantage are of the highest calibre at all times.
14. Assist in assembling a complete tennis program offering coaching leagues and tournaments for all standards and adapt other ideas.
15. Promote Advantage Sports sponsorship brands.
16. To be a point of contact between clients and the Managing Director and assist if and when necessary.
17. To assist in locating and setting up new projects.
18. Increase revenue for the tennis section of Advantage Sports Services.
19. Help liaise with Tennis Emirates to improve tennis programs and standards in the UAE.
20. Assist in tennis promotions, clinics, open days, tennis racquet testing days, etc. without hesitation.
21. Develop the LTA Red, Orange, and Green & Teen Tennis scheme to run tournaments.
22. Assist in arranging and teaching in holiday tennis camps.
23. Contact person and organizer for Friday Men's Leagues for Advantage Sports Services venues.
24. Contact person and organizer for Saturday Ladies Leagues for Advantage Sports Services venues.
25. Assist with tournament development (interclub leagues, open tournaments for all ages and abilities).
26. Programme coaching for children from 4 years of age and older juniors, adults, adult evenings, ladies' mornings, match play mornings.

Personal Specifications:

1. Interest and ability in tennis.
2. Good spoken English communication skills.
3. The ability to inspire confidence and motivate tennis players.
4. Perseverance and patience are extremely important.
5. The ability to encourage people and put them at ease.
6. A minimum of 5 years experience and one of the following qualifications: LTA, PTR, US PTA, RPT, ITF, or FIT.
