Teller

Job Purpose:

To deal with financial transactions like cash and cheque at the counter in an efficient and courteous manner that projects a good image of the bank’s services, ensuring adherence to the bank's policies, ethics, and code of conduct.

Job Accountabilities:

1. Manage customer cash deposits and withdrawal requests, including receiving cash and cheques, verifying the accuracy of information detailed on deposit slips, signatures, and availability of sufficient funds to ensure accurate financial management and adherence to established procedures.
2. Provide efficient customer service by reducing customer waiting and service time.
3. Provide customers with competent, timely, and error-free service to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
4. Reconcile cash drawer by providing cash transaction reports and counting cash.
5. Maintain a supply of cash and currency and return excess cash and mutilated currency to the head teller.
6. Cross-sell or identify and refer product inquiries from customers to concerned staff.
7. Follow all established bank policies, operating manuals, service quality standards, and code of conduct for smooth workflow and low level of operational risks.
8. Strive to eliminate the risk of cash differences by ensuring compliance with the bank's cash control procedure as well as Central Bank requirements.
9. Submit departmental statements and reports to superiors timely and accurately to meet branch operations requirements, comply with policies, and standards.
10. Print daily transaction reports and cross-verify to ensure zero loss and error.
11. Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related tasks assigned by superiors.
12. Show willingness to work as a replacement within the branch in other functions to learn more about banking operations.
13. The teller reports to the Cash Supervisor and confers with the latter on critical and strategic issues.

Qualifications, Experience & Skills:

• High School Graduate / 10th Pass / Secondary School Certificate.
• 1 - 3 years of experience in the banking/financial sector.
