Technician - Production

FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Perform pre-preparation tasks for mould changing to ensure minimum mould changing time.
2. Load the mould efficiently as per the standing operating procedures (SOP) and set the machine and process according to product specifications.
3. Contribute to achieving production targets through effective process control.
4. Observe active machines to identify abnormalities in operation and take corrective action if required.
5. Carry out cleaning and maintenance of change parts and mould accessories after production runs, ensuring proper storage with identification.
6. Ensure cleaning of material handling equipment is carried out at regular intervals.
7. Check the mould moving parts, lubricate them, and maintain a daily record of the same.
8. Perform minor maintenance as required and assist in general maintenance if needed.
9. Conduct in-process quality checks requiring accurate machine and process settings to obtain production efficiency.
10. Verify the accuracy of product specifications and ensure approval from Quality personnel and Production supervisors on the production data sheet during mould and job changes.
11. Maintain mould history cards and report to the Supervisor and/or Production Executive if any work needs to be carried out.
12. Observe safety precautions, especially during mould changes, and identify potential hazards, taking necessary measures to avoid any calamities.
13. Follow company HSE guidelines in respect of all operations undertaken.
14. Ensure SOP compliance by observing personnel on the shop floor and providing on-job training.
15. Train, mentor, and provide direction to machine operators on equipment processes and procedures.
16. Perform any other job or task assigned by the Production Supervisor to accomplish department objectives.

Requirements

Education/Qualifications

• ITI
• Special training preferably in Plastic production.
• Age factor: maximum 35 years.

Experience

• Minimum of 2-4 years of technical experience in the manufacturing industry, preferably in industrial product plastic and/or packaging.
• At least 5-6 years of hands-on experience in the plastic manufacturing industry (if there is no ITI qualification).

Functional Skills & Specific Knowledge

• Knowledge of production processes.
• Knowledge of mould changing and setting.
• Knowledge and experience in mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic equipment preferred.
• Knowledge of related machines and their operation preferred.
