We are currently assisting a client looking for a Technical Superintendent with experience on the vessels assisting larger ships. (e.g Tug boats, mooring boats, pilot boats etc)
This role is crucial for maintaining the efficiency and safety of vessels that play a supportive role in maritime operations, ensuring that all vessels are ready to perform their duties effectively
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintenance and Repairs: Oversee the maintenance and repair activities of vessels such as tug boats, pilot boats, and mooring boats to ensure they are in optimal working condition.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all vessels comply with safety regulations, environmental standards, and company policies.
- Performance Monitoring: Regularly monitor the performance of vessels, conducting inspections and audits as necessary.
- Budget Management: Prepare and manage budgets for maintenance, repairs, and operational costs.
- Crew Management: Supervise and support the technical crew, ensuring they are well-trained and their morale is high.
- Docking and Surveys: Plan and oversee docking operations, surveys, and inspections, ensuring all are completed on schedule.
- Spare Parts Management: Source and manage spare parts, ensuring timely availability for maintenance and repairs.
- Reporting: Prepare detailed reports on vessel performance, maintenance activities, and compliance with regulations.
- Stakeholder Coordination: Liaise with port authorities, classification societies, and other regulatory bodies for necessary inspections and certifications.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Significant experience in marine engineering, particularly with vessels that assist larger ships, such as tug boats and pilot boats. - Required
- Education: Degree in Marine Engineering or a related field.
- Skills: Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills. Proficiency in technical management software is a plus.
- Certifications: Relevant certifications in marine engineering and safety management.
