Technical Specialist – Security

Job Objective:

To ensure all Applications run in a manner that meets all agreed Service Levels in line with the planned costs of sustaining and business changes.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Accountable for the following tasks
   
   1. Security: Operations; Operating system level security; Vulnerability security scan
2. Responsible for the task completion in the following fields
   
   1. Standards definition: Authentication
   2. Security: Operations; Operating system level security; Vulnerability security scan
3. Is Consulted on the following key topics
   
   1. Infrastructure: Architecture/EAQP; SSR
   2. Functional Support: Use cases; Test Cases; L3 Technical design and review of specifications
   3. Standards definition: Browser
   4. Audits and reviews: CR estimate and review; Code review; Code audit
   5. Security: Coordination with SAMBA security team; XCAP
   6. Housekeeping: Archiving; Upgrades
   7. Tools: Application specific tools e.g. add-on libraries
   8. Innovation: Technical / functional watch; Continuous improvement

Level of Autonomy:

The incumbent will need to be able to work with little supervision. He will maintain a high level of supervision and coordination with the business systems teams.

Key Challenges:

The key challenge is to maintain a strong understanding of how the designated Applications operate within the technical and functional framework, and provide value for money in delivery of the Services.

Prerequisites:

The incumbent is familiar with business systems, security processes and application change cycles. He is well versed in the technologies used in the designated Applications and their security designs.
