Technical Service Manager-Oilfield

Purpose of the Job

This position is a technical service role in the Oilfield application support group. The main function of the position is to provide technical service and support to the Oilfield business in India and SEA, in addition to the MEA region. As a Technical Service Manager, the job will be to execute application development tasks aligned with the sales, R&D and the global strategy. The role will perform formulation work and ensure all technical service tasks are completed accurately and on time. This position is expected to take a significant role in customer interface with multiple stakeholders. This position will require travel to visit Customers' labs/sites as well as participating in local trade shows/conferences.

About the job (Job Responsibilities)

• Provide a deep understanding of Oilfield Chemicals formulation and application knowledge to the area of Oilfield Production, Drilling, Stimulation chemicals among others to deliver technical service and solutions.
• Responsible for operating safely in a dedicated application support laboratory.
• Plan, perform and prioritize experimental work, interpret and report results.
• Visit customer sites, understand application and performance needs.
• Develop solutions, formulation and evaluate performance.
• Support sales organization and customers with technical services, offer solutions and customer visits.
• Prepare and make presentations at internal and external events/conferences.
• Design experiments and develop new methods of performance testing as needed.
• Effectively interact with internal and external customers and distributors as well as counterparts at other Nouryon locations.
• Maintain and develop expertise in core technology and experimental procedures.
• Maintain application testing equipment suitable for the technical service needs.
• Maintain the highest level of safety and HSE standards in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations and Nouryon rules and procedures.
• Work within the technical team to provide the right level of support based on the size of the opportunity and the urgency of the request.

We believe you bring (Education & Experience)

• Degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering, Oilfield Engineering, or related field.
• 5 years+ of experience in the Oilfield industry.
• Experience in formulation and testing.
• Knowledge of Oilfield chemicals and surfactants preferred.
• Written and spoken English language proficiency.
• Any knowledge of another or local language will be a bonus.
