JOB OBJECTIVES:
• Receive and act on general guidance, objectives, and some specific work assignments from the Engineering Manager.
• Act as the technical authority and focal point for engineering issues related to technical safety and environment.
• Coordinate among the design team with PMC/PMT's discipline engineering professionals.
• Be the main focal point towards the Company and provide support in reviewing major comments and finding solutions.
• Lead the technical safety and environment team to complete the relevant design independently with sufficient technical level and coordination ability.
• Be good at communicating and coordinating with the engineering team and the owner.
• Take responsibility for technical safety and environment design throughout the engineering, procurement, construction installation, and commissioning stages.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
• Lead or assist the technical safety and environment design team in collaborating with the owner to determine the deliverable document list for the technical safety and environment team, maximizing the simplification of the deliverable list and quality requirements, and maximizing the shortening of the delivering time and reduction of the required resources for the deliverables (both internal and external).
• Lead or assist in determining the specific technical route and work plan for the technical safety team.
• Lead or assist in developing technical requirements for third-party consulting companies.
• Participate in the preparation and review of important Philosophy, Calculation, Requirement, Plan, Procedure, and Specification deliverables; prepare and review important Datasheet, list, and layout templates. Provide explanation or instruction on all analysis items if required by the technical safety team.
• Participate in workshops conducted by third-party consulting companies such as HAZID, HAZOP, ENVID, SIL Classification, SIMPOS, HFE study, etc. Participate in the review of studies conducted by third-party consulting companies such as QRA, FERA, RAM, etc. Provide explanations of all reviewed items if requested by the technical safety team.
• Lead or assist in the review of relevant vendor documents.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
• Minimum Bachelor’s degree in oil and natural gas process. An advanced degree in engineering is preferable.
• Minimum of ten (10) years’ experience in Project Engineering and/or construction, including five (5) years’ experience as a technical safety and environment lead of facilities/project engineering at EPCI phase;
• Extensive familiarity with technical safety studies (HAZID, HAZOP, QRA, FERA, SIL, etc.) and experience in chairing workshops and preparing specific deliverables is preferable. Familiarity with applicable standards (API, ASME, NFPA, ISO standard; familiarity with Indonesian standards is preferable).
• Extensive familiarity with process & risk simulation software (Aspen HYSYS, DNV SAFETI, DNV PHAST, PHA PRO, etc.).
• Extensive familiarity with oil & gas treatment processes in all cases, including normal, emergency, start-up, shut down, etc.
• Good team membership and willingness to support the section with additional task requests as necessary.
• Proactive and positive attitude, willing to closely follow up and push issues to successful resolutions.
• Strong analytical, tactical, and strategic thinking skills with a bias towards action.
• Self-starter with a strong work ethic, great time management, and communication skills.
• Excellent English interpersonal, written, and communication skills. International project engineering experience is mandatory.
• Prefer candidates with Total project experience.
