Roles and Responsibilities

The Technical Manager - Mechanical Consultant is responsible for providing expert leadership and guidance in the design, implementation, and management of mechanical systems within diverse projects. This role ensures that mechanical solutions are innovative, efficient, and aligned with client requirements, industry standards, and sustainability objectives.

Leadership and Team Management

  1. Supervising Teams: Lead mechanical engineers and technical teams involved in the project.
  2. Resource Allocation: Allocate resources effectively to ensure the timely completion of tasks.
  3. Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.

System Design

  1. Develop, review, and validate mechanical system designs such as HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
  2. Ensure designs meet local codes, international standards, and client requirements.
  3. Address and resolve technical issues during design, installation, and operational phases.

Project Management

  1. Define project scope, timelines, and deliverables for mechanical components.
  2. Work closely with architects, structural engineers, electrical engineers, and other stakeholders.
  3. Track project progress and make adjustments as needed to meet deadlines.

Client Engagement

  1. Engage with clients to understand their needs and translate them into technical solutions.
  2. Provide technical presentations, reports, and updates to clients.
  3. Offer advice and recommendations on mechanical system improvements.

Quality Control and Assurance

  1. Verify the accuracy and functionality of mechanical designs.
  2. Supervise the testing, commissioning, and inspection of mechanical systems.
  3. Maintain comprehensive records of design iterations, testing results, and approvals.

Budget and Cost Management

  1. Prepare and manage budgets for mechanical systems.
  2. Identify cost-saving measures while maintaining quality standards.

Innovation and Continuous Improvement

  1. Stay updated with advancements in mechanical systems and technologies.

Risk Management

  1. Anticipate potential risks and implement mitigation strategies.
  2. Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations.

Communication and Reporting

  1. Act as a liaison between technical teams and non-technical stakeholders.
  2. Prepare detailed reports for project status, risks, and milestones.

Desired Candidate Profile

Qualification:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.

Experience and Skills:

Experience:

15 years of consultancy experience in HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems.

Skills:

  • Technical Skills: Expertise in designing HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and other mechanical systems.
  • Engineering Software Proficiency: Skilled in tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, SolidWorks, ANSYS, MATLAB, and other simulation or modeling software.
  • System Optimization: Ability to enhance the efficiency, reliability, and sustainability of mechanical systems.
  • Troubleshooting: Strong problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve mechanical system issues effectively.
  • Project Management Skills: Ability to manage project timelines, resources, and deliverables efficiently.
  • Risk Management: Skills in identifying, analyzing, and mitigating risks during project lifecycles.
  • Leadership and Team Management Skills: Capability to lead, mentor, and motivate engineering teams.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to clients and stakeholders.
  • Adaptability: Ability to make quick, informed decisions in dynamic project environments.
