TECHNICAL INSPECTOR – LOGISTICS & GROUND SUPPORT EQUIPMENT (GSE)

Technical Inspector Logistics & GSE is a role primarily established for an aviation logistician responsible for ensuring the quality and authenticity of aircraft components and associated documentation to complete the audit trail for airworthiness. This is primarily for aircraft components, but can include associated GSE. They are responsible for inspecting and approving all the critical (Grounding-X, Circled-X) scheduled & unscheduled maintenance and repair actions on assigned GSE components. Technical Inspector Logistics & GSE is responsible for inspecting the daily maintenance/repair of all relevant aircraft/workshop components and the proper completion of daily maintenance and historical records in accordance with current procedures and processes.

QUALIFICATIONS

Diploma or recognised training, qualifications and experience in aviation.

Desirable:

Diploma or recognised training in Aircraft GSE Maintenance/A&P License or Equivalent AS/AA degree in aviation related studies preferred.

EXPERIENCE

Minimum of 8 Years Experience in the aviation field as aviation logistician or GSE team lead/supervisor.

Desirable:

Rotary Wing aviation logistics and GSE experience as required for the position applied is preferred. Quality Control experience on aircraft preferred. Working knowledge of aviation GSE or a willingness to learn and develop in this field. Knowledge and experience of Middle East culture. Knowledge of EASA/GCAA Continuing Airworthiness regulations. Aviation Unit Maintenance (AVUM). Aviation Intermediate Maintenance (AVIM).

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Review and audit incoming documents including CoC, ARC or Airworthiness Approval Tag, EASA Form1 or FAA 8130-3, Service Bulletins as applicable that support airworthiness of all aircraft parts/workshop components in accordance with current regulations and policy and other applicable technical publications.
2. Provide discrepancy reports on parts that fail receiving inspections when required.
3. Perform inspection of GSE and components during their removal, disassembly, assembly, installation and adjustment phases of incorporation onto equipment. Ensure the workmanship and materials conform to the equipment manufacturers specifications and required maintenance manual procedures.
4. Ensure that all defects & discrepancies are recorded & documented in accordance with local procedures for corrective actions in accordance with requirements and approved SOP's.
5. Responsible for auditing storage conditions & oversight of shelf life management.
6. Responsible for tracking & raising work order requests for any SBs/messages related to parts in stock.
7. Responsible for raising & tracking defect reports for unserviceable parts in repair cycle.
8. Responsible for the proper Quality Control oversight work conducted.
9. Perform Scheduled facility audits for safety and policy compliance.
10. Perform Quality Control duties on deployments if required.
11. Report any irregularities in daily standard practices used that would cause injury to personnel or deem the GSE unsafe, and advise Quality Control Supervisor in the evaluation of maintenance actions performed.
12. Comply with all the company's SOP.
13. Monitor, review and evaluate the GSE parts and components records, maintenance processes and usage to determine discrepancy trends and specific problem areas and the root causes of failures and, based on findings, recommend relevant procedural changes, processing and usage limitation.
14. Prepare necessary correspondence, technical reports and status reports as per customer requirements.
