Technical Director of Medical Imaging

Patient Care Management:

1. Provides direction and guidance in the delivery of patient care, incorporating outcomes and research evidence to guide practice.
2. Provides input in formulating patient standards of care and practice.
3. Evaluates the integration of the departmental process: identification of patient problems, implementation of plan of care and evaluation of patient progress toward desired outcomes.
4. Collaborates with the medical staff to coordinate medical and nursing management of patient care.
5. Supervises all departmental activities related to patient care and monitors compliance for accurate reporting and documentation of all patients' care and equipment usage.
6. Identifies the need for activation of escalation procedures which include notifying management when the demand exceeds capacity.
7. Assumes responsibility for infection control, safety and quality of care and comfort of patients.
8. Implements and monitors infection control measures.
9. Applies safety measures related to patient care.

Operational Management:

1. Plans, organizes, and manages daily operations within the approved budget.
2. Participates in environmental rounds.
3. Follows-up on replenishment's of instruments.
4. Ensures the establishment of responsibilities and identification of priorities and performance standards.
5. Oversees the scheduling process and final schedule to be matched with volume trends.
6. Facilitates opportunities for nursing and technologists education activities for the use of new equipment and/or technologies.
7. Assists nursing and technologists in the development of clinical decision-making and problem-solving skills through case discussions, clinical demonstrations, case reviews, etc.
8. Ensures safe handling, and administration of Narcotic/Controlled Drugs and documentation as directed by policies and procedures.
