Overall financial responsibility for the assigned sales region and account portfolio, which includes financial metrics targeting volume, margin, costs, and receivables.
Leverage the overall FCC Catalysts Division (CCR) global strategy to develop territory and customer strategies.
Strategies shall be supported by well-defined implementation plans to execute against key strategic objectives to accelerate growth, properly position our product offering with the customer base, and maximize market penetration.
Identify new business opportunities and enhance existing customer relationships through relationship mapping and account penetration.
Responsible for sales forecasting, pricing, CRM tool management, and other projects as assigned to support account management activities.
Evaluate requests for technical and commercial proposals, including performing a detailed technical analysis, technical modeling, and simulations, performing pricing evaluations, and developing commercial terms when required.
Liaise with customer technical and operational teams to advise and assist with technical troubleshooting, offering consultation and implementing modeling scenarios to solve operational issues specific to refinery processes or the FCC unit.
Establish and maintain relationships with key customer personnel, as well as key external stakeholders to enhance commercial effectiveness and drive financial results.
The Account Manager will manage all relationships between the regional refineries and BASF.
Consistent demonstration of commercial excellence during the life cycle of a customer relationship.
QUALIFICATIONS
PhD (or equivalent) in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or Materials Science.
10+ years of refining experience and/or refining licensor background with at least 5+ years of FCC process experience required.
Demonstrated experience and knowledge of the oil refining industry with a solid understanding of refining processes is required.
Previous sales/account management or marketing experience with global exposure to the refining industry and customer relationships is highly desired and preferred.
Customer-facing experience in a sales or technical role is required.
Ability to perform technical modeling and process simulations utilizing modeling software.
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English are required.
Willing to interact in interdisciplinary and multicultural teams.
Geographical responsibility will be placed on the Middle East and Africa.
Candidate must be willing and able to travel approximately 30% of the time, primarily in the Middle East and Africa and less frequently to Europe and the USA. Travel may be above 50% during peak business needs.
