Team leader Transport

We are looking for a Team Leader Transport to supervise transportation operations and ensure all related documentation is accurate and issued on time. The ideal candidate should have strong logistics knowledge, be detail-oriented, and able to manage both operational tasks and paperwork efficiently, with experience in leading a team of at least 10+ employees.

Key Responsibilities:

Transportation Coordination:

• Supervise tracking to ensure timely deliveries.
• Communicate with internal teams and transporters to ensure smooth operations.
• Track shipments and address any delays or issues.

Documentation Management:

• Prepare, collect, and maintain key documents, including invoices, packing lists, road manifests, and proof of deliveries.
• Ensure all documentation complies with regulations and company standards.
• Keep accurate records of shipments and related paperwork.

Data Entry & Reporting:

• Input transport data into logistics software and track shipment progress.
• Issue tracking reports to customers.
• Create regular reports on performance, costs, and delivery metrics.
• Analyse data to find areas for improvement in operations.

Problem Solving:

• Quickly resolve issues with shipments, delays, or documentation discrepancies.
• Work with transporters and internal teams to find solutions and minimize disruptions.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Leadership: Experience in leading and supervising a team of at least 10 people.
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, or related field (preferred).
• Experience: 3-5 years in logistics and transportation management.
• Excel Skills: Excellent in Microsoft Excel for data tracking and reporting.
• Attention to Detail: Strong ability to manage documentation with accuracy.
• Communication Skills: Clear written and verbal communication for collaborating with teams and vendors.
• Problem-Solving: Ability to quickly resolve operational or documentation issues.
• Adaptability: Flexible in handling unexpected challenges or changes in priorities.
• Technical Skills: Experience with logistics management software is a plus.
• Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with transportation and customs regulations.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with transportation management systems (TMS).
• Basic understanding of customs clearance.
• Multilingual skills are a plus for international shipping.
