About The Role

Assists the Assistant Outlet Manager and/or the Outlet Manager within the limits of the established Hotel policies and Operational Standards, and provides efficient, personalized, courteous and punctual service. Works with a team spirit and ensures that each guest leaves the outlet fully satisfied and with the wish to return back.

Key Duties And Responsibilities

  1. Distribute the work for the team, including the need to multi-skill in employees' job requirements.
  2. Ensure information is properly passed on to the team (briefings and debriefings).
  3. Ensure the point of sale is prepared to a high standard.
  4. Take guests' orders.
  5. Ensure equipment is used correctly.
  6. Consider the global level of activity when managing the flow of guests, placement at tables and reservations.
  7. Check the quality and speed of waiter service.
  8. Ensure that the outlet is managed efficiently according to the established concept statements.
  9. Ensure that the par stocks for all operating equipment and supplies are strictly adhered to and that the outlet is adequately equipped.
  10. Assist in conducting monthly inventory checks on all operating equipment and supplies.
  11. Assist in controlling the requisitioning, storage and careful use of all operating equipment and supplies.
  12. Assist in planning and organizing festive food promotions within the outlet manager.
  13. Maintain the Daily Log Book.
  14. Assist in planning the outlet weekly roster and work schedules to ensure that the outlet is adequately staffed to handle the level of business.
  15. Maintain the outlet bulletin board.
  16. Perform duties with maximum efficiency and in the most productive manner.
  17. Carry out monthly, quarterly, bi-annual, yearly inventory of operating equipment.
  18. Handle guest enquiries in a courteous and efficient manner and report guest complaints or problems to supervisors if no immediate solution can be found and assure follow-up with guests.
  19. Ensure that the outlet team projects a warm, professional and welcoming image.
  20. Establish rapport with guests, maintaining good customer relationships.
  21. Set up the restaurant, checking cleaning and the quality of all equipment, glassware, cutlery, chinaware, napkins, etc.
  22. Supervise the end of day closing of the service area and ensure that all equipment is in an appropriate place and nothing is left around that can be hazardous.
  23. Check the standard and quality of food and beverage which leaves the kitchen.
  24. Check extra needs of a guest.

Experience & Educational Requirements

  1. Hotel or Restaurant Management Diploma/ Bachelor Degree or its equivalent
  2. HACCP certified
  3. 1 year in a similar position in a five star hotel
  4. Computer literate in Microsoft Windows applications an asset
  5. Positive attitude
  6. Good communication skills
  7. Ability to work under pressure
  8. Ability to work on own or in teams
  9. Ability to take decisions
  10. Ability to administer disciplinary action
  11. Good product knowledge
  12. Ability to produce checklists
  13. HACCP control knowledge
