Roles and Responsibilities

As the Entertainment Technical Team Leader, you serve as the first level of management within the technical team responsible for overseeing the execution of various entertainment operations, experiences, and events. You will lead a team of Irata technicians level 1, 2, and other technicians, ensuring the seamless operation of technical equipment and the successful delivery of support for shows and events that delight our guests. Team Leadership:

  • Manages a team of frontline colleagues to include their on-the-job training, daily attendance, grooming, coaching, appraisals, and personal development plans.
  • Ensure that policies, procedures, and performance standards that are in place in the department are being adhered to.
  • Forecast and maintain required spares and consumables in the Maximo system.
  • Trains subordinates on how to level up technical know-how and sources for applicable training to enhance knowledge.

Team Support:

  • Update the Maximo system for all AVL and Rope Access transactions and approvals when it comes to work orders, purchases, Service Request, etc.
  • Checks and evaluates proper manpower allocation in line with the duty roster.
  • Coordinate, facilitate projects initiated by contractors.
  • Identify points of improvement that are beneficial for the AVL and Rope Access sections.
  • Directs, supervises, and mentors senior technician and technician activities in line with departmental objectives and workloads for the day.
  • Execute directions given by the manager and director to attain goals and targets.
  • Train colleagues in the safe operation of equipment and to follow departmental policies and procedures.
  • Conduct colleague performance appraisals in a timely, fair, and constructive manner in order to promote their personal and career growth, and coach and discipline colleagues to motivate and improve performance.
  • Assign and delegate tasks as required, and follow-up.

Quality Assurance:

  • Implement and enforce best practices for equipment setup, operation, and safety.
  • Support to conduct quality checks to maintain high standards of audiovisual and technical production quality.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and technological advancements to enhance entertainment offerings and experiences.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Ensure that all safety rules and procedures are being adhered to at all times.
  • Providing safety management, work site organization, supervisory leadership, and accountabilities to work crews on various projects.
  • Utilizing specialized knowledge of "Rope Access Technology" to execute projects from inception through completion.
  • Checking that the final anchor lines are correctly and safely rigged before any technician uses them.
  • On site fall protection, high angle rescue, and rescue training.
  • Responsible for identifying and handling damaged or failed equipment.
  • Supervising and ensuring the safety and performance of the Level 1 and Level 2 technicians under his or her direction.
  • Preparing and submitting reports on a timely basis.
  • Ensuring the operational safety of all equipment.

Resource Management:

  • Ensuring that preventative maintenance is done in line with the maintenance management system.
  • Coordinate with vendors and suppliers whilst following company guidelines.
  • Optimize resource allocation to maximize efficiency when setting up and running shows and events or the daily operation.

Collaboration:

  • Work closely with fellow Entertainment Technical Team Leaders and Management teams to understand technical requirements and provide solutions.
  • Foster a collaborative and innovative environment within the Entertainment Technical support team.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain detailed records of event setups, issues and resolution logs for future reference.

Essential:

  • Related technical qualification.
  • Previous supervisory experience preferred.
  • 3+ years in a similar theme park environment.
  • Hands-on installation experience.
  • Basic knowledge in operating audio and lighting systems for live entertainment.
  • Basic knowledge in component repairs for audio, lighting, and video equipment.
  • Proven ability in troubleshooting AV equipment.
  • Problem-solving skills.
  • Able to adhere to strict timelines.
  • Clear understanding of both written and spoken English.
  • Computer skills.
  • Ability to understand one-line drawings and schematics.
  • Able to spend long hours standing if required.
  • Possess a firm knowledge of installation tools and have the ability to use them.
  • Ability to lift at least 25 kg.
