Assist teachers in their work as directed, completing a range of tasks regularly.
Supervise small groups or whole classes of children in emergencies, as requested by the Principal or Senior Management Team. Teaching assistants are insured for this responsibility.

Key Accountabilities
Assist the teacher with reading-related activities.
Run small group activities inside or outside the classroom as directed by the teacher.
Prepare and tidy up classroom activities, including mounting work displays.
Photocopy documents and prepare worksheets as requested.
Perform other duties as requested by managers/supervisors.
Cover classes for short periods in emergencies.
Assist children with toilet needs and maintain hygiene when necessary.
Familiarize yourself with relevant aspects of the curriculum - literacy, numeracy, and phonetics.
Follow GEMS policies, procedures, and codes of conduct at all times.
Demonstrate effort and energy beyond the typical workday when necessary.
Attend staff meetings and serve on committees as required.
Maintain confidentiality and discretion regarding student and school information.
