Teacher- Physical Education- Virginia International Private School (March 2025 Start)

Responsibilities:

Main Duties:

1. Deliver lessons that inspire students to succeed in order to achieve the best possible outcomes.
2. Teamwork and collaboration.
3. Good communication at all levels.
4. Develop positive relationships with all members of the school community.
5. Plan engaging lessons that meet requirements of the curriculum.
6. Liaise with colleagues and work flexibly.
7. Work with parents to ensure the happiness and best academic outcomes for all children.
8. Cooperate with curriculum support staff (where applicable) to support children's development.

Teaching and Learning:

1. Clear understanding of the Curriculum.
2. Organise the classroom provision and learning resources to create a positive and engaging learning environment.
3. Plan, prepare, and present sessions that cater for the needs of the whole ability range within the class.
4. Motivate pupils with enthusiastic, imaginative teaching.
5. Observe and assess children in line with school assessments.
6. Reflect on classroom provision, sessions taught, and adjust planning and curriculum accordingly.
7. Meet with other professionals such as speech and language therapists and educational psychologists, if required.
8. Ensure the Al Mamoura Academy Teacher and Learner DNA language and attitudes are embedded throughout the curriculum.

Assessment and Data:

1. Take responsibility for the progress of a class.
2. Meet requirements for the assessment and recording of student's development.
3. Use data from assessments to influence further planning and intervention.
4. Provide feedback to parents and carers on a student's progress at Parent Teacher Conferences and other meetings.

Behaviour Management and Duties:

1. Follow the school's behaviour policy.
2. Manage classes effectively, using approaches appropriate to students' needs.
3. Maintain good relationships with pupils and act decisively when necessary.
4. Be a positive role model demonstrating expected attitudes, values, and behaviour.
5. Have high expectations of behaviour, promoting self-control and independence of all learners.
6. Carry out duties as directed within the school's policy.

Wider Professional Responsibilities:

1. Work as part of a curriculum action group, supporting planning, assessment, resources, and special events.
2. Support the organisation of school events and activities.
3. Communicate effectively with parents/carers regarding students' achievements and well-being.
4. Make a positive contribution to the wider life and ethos of the school.
5. Run a weekly ECA each term.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in the related subject with PGCE or other teacher qualification.

Minimum Experience:

Minimum 2 years experience in American/IGCSE curriculum.
