Oliver Wyman is now looking for a Talent Manager (Staffing / Resource Management) to join our Doha or Dubai/ Abu Dhabi office!
Job Overview:
Manage the career development and performance management of our junior consultant pool (CCG). Balance project staffing needs by allocating the right talent to projects whilst keeping individual preferences and skill requirements in mind.
Collaborate with business stakeholders across Industries and Capabilities, ACG, CCG and Specialist TMs across the region to optimize outcomes.
Analyze and report on key talent related metrics like utilization, staff deployment, project performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Career Development
- Provide career guidance and mentorship to consultants and be keenly aware of consultants’ preferences and performance based on frequent personal interactions.
- Proactively seek informal feedback from Partners, Principals and Engagement Managers as projects are ending to ensure any development objectives are taken into account for future staffing assignments and development.
- Drive the majoring and affiliation process.
- Work closely with the local CCG Partner and fellow TMs to ensure consultants fully understand feedback and areas for developments and coach consultants on how best to meet firm expectations.
- Ensure skills & experiences are updated based on project reviews.
- Track and proactively manage consultant learning & development in IMEA.
Performance Management
- Actively engage in career review process at MY and YE, working closely with the performance management team, the TM team and relevant business stakeholders like the CCG partner.
- Ensure project reviews are triggered correctly and delivered in a timely manner.
- Track consultants’ progress against development objectives and initiate any next steps if applicable.
- Support Talent Development Plans (TDPs) and related actions.
Staffing
- Collaborate with project leaders to assess staffing needs and relevant details.
- Coordinate and interact daily with CCG and ACG TM colleagues to collaboratively provide best team options across IMEA, carefully balancing skill requirements and career aspirations.
- Manage Business Development, IC and other internal requests.
- Manage consultants’ leave request approvals and extensions.
- Keep the staffing system up to date at all times.
- Maintain up to date data including availability, project experience, areas of expertise & interest, competency & skills development, utilization and overall career progression.
Talent Management
- Address any work life balance challenges raised, closely liaising with the broader TM team as well as the IMEA Wellbeing Lead.
- Drive and implement talent management programs like MBA sponsorship programs, BOOST, LoA programs, transfers, etc.).
- Support office culture and staff engagement in close coordination with office leader, CCG committee and TM Lead.
Experience Required
- Ideal candidates will have a bachelor’s degree and 2-4 years of relevant professional experience in a fast-paced and dynamic client services business environment. Talent management or Consulting Experience preferred.
- Experience balancing ever-changing work demands in a challenging environment with numerous stakeholders.
- Proven ability to foster relationships at all levels of the organization.
