Job description

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Tailoring Services:

    • Create repair and alter uniforms, linens, curtains, and other fabric items as required.
    • Conduct fittings to ensure proper measurements and alterations for staff uniforms.
    • Work with a variety of fabrics including luxury and high-durability materials.
  2. Upholstery Services:

    • Repair and reupholster furniture such as chairs, sofas, and headboards ensuring they meet brand standards.
    • Replace or restore fabric, padding, and other materials to maintain the property's aesthetic appeal.
  3. Maintenance and Quality Control:

    • Inspect and assess upholstery, curtains, and soft furnishings for wear and damage.
    • Ensure all items comply with health, safety, and quality standards.
    • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace.
  4. Collaboration:

    • Coordinate with the housekeeping and engineering teams to manage repair schedules.
    • Assist in planning and implementing upgrades to fabric-related furnishings across the property.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a tailor or upholsterer in a luxury hotel or high-end establishment.
  • Strong knowledge of sewing techniques, fabric types, and upholstery processes.
  • Ability to use sewing machines, cutting tools, and upholstery equipment.
  • Eye for detail, precision, and a commitment to delivering exceptional quality.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Basic communication skills in English; additional languages are a plus.
