Systems Administrator

Facilitate the delivery, operation, and future development of IT infrastructure services to meet business requirements in a secure, sustainable and cost-effective manner.

This role will be Monday to Friday, with core hours of 0700-1700. Some flexibility can be agreed with the candidate, and some flexibility will be required on occasion for emergency outages or very occasional planned maintenance.

Main Responsibilities

• Day-to-day administration, monitoring, and maintenance of all infrastructure systems, including Windows and Linux servers, Microsoft 365, Entra, Azure, Intune, Windows Active Directory, Windows workstations, WAN and LAN, Android/iOS mobiles, and other applications.
• Responding to security alerts from threat intelligence, SIEM, and monitoring systems in accordance with SLAs.
• Participate in resolution of emergency/DR situations.
• Contribute to the design and deployment of new systems and services, e.g., Windows servers, new SaaS platforms, cloud migrations.
• Cost-effective purchasing/sourcing of day-to-day equipment (not directly accountable for budget).

Skills Required

• Extensive experience (3 years+) with core technologies: Windows Server, Windows 10/11, Active Directory (Group Policy), Microsoft 365, Azure, Entra, WAN, LAN, WLAN, Android/iOS.
• Taking ownership of a problem and seeing it to a conclusion, independent research and troubleshooting, escalating when required.
• Infrastructure as code / DSC / Ansible, PowerShell scripting, automation of recurring tasks.
• Understanding of TCP/IP model, DHCP, DNS, subnetting. Experience in network troubleshooting.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; fluent in English.
• Strong time management, organizational, and analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.
• A degree in a relevant field (computer science, systems, engineering).
• Relevant certifications such as Microsoft, Cisco, CompTIA, cyber.
