What are my responsibilities?
Review and analysis of the tender requirements from all aspects of technical, performance, and operational needs to develop technically compliant and cost-effective BHS layout concepts.
Perform spatial analysis of the system design within the building constraints, considering O&M, Access/Egress, H&S, and Evacuation requirements.
Develop material flow/capacity assessments capturing the key performance & design parameters to validate the system concepts.
Develop and finalize the system solutions in 3D using AutoCAD, Revit and NavisWorks.
Generate the proposal drawings for submittal along with the offer.
Conduct detailed site surveys of brown and green field sites in potential regional and international opportunities if required.
Prepare BOQs & BOMs to support the estimation function.
Define and prepare the electrical and control philosophy and associated costs for inclusion in the overall price.
Value Engineering of the system design to develop cost-effective system solutions for all Bids & Proposals, including selecting OEM system components, input on pricing estimates, manpower plans, and associated phasing/scheduling activities.
Write an explanation of the system function and operation for inclusion in the offer documentation.
Collaborate and present to other industry experts, consultants, clients, and subcontractors on the technical aspects of the system design.
Overview of steelwork considering the O&M activities and coordination with the relevant departments for estimation, procurement, and planning.
Understand equipment benefits and limitations in the marketplace to prepare best-of-breed total system solutions.
What do I need to qualify for the role?
Bachelor’s degree preferable in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
Minimum 5 years of experience developing Bids/Proposals for Airport Baggage Handling Systems.
Solid experience creating system solutions in 3D layouts using AutoCAD, Revit and Navisworks.
Able to demonstrate experience in reviewing/analyzing tender requirements from all aspects of technical, performance, and operational needs.
Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of stakeholders/management.
Able to develop reputation/relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
Demonstrate any key situations where you have positively impacted the system design and subsequent contract award.
Flexible working approach and capability to manage workload, a team player who can train others and share knowledge.
Ability and willingness to travel both domestically and internationally if required.
Excellent analytical and interpersonal skills with strong problem-solving and critical-thinking capabilities.
Understanding of Animation, Simulation & BIM would be advantageous.
