Team Size: 34 direct reports

Large well-known entertainment-related business is seeking an experienced and dynamic Associate Director of Sustainability to lead and manage sustainability initiatives across the business. This individual will play a pivotal role in embedding sustainability into the company's strategy, operations, and culture, ensuring compliance with local and international standards while delivering measurable environmental, social, and economic impact.

This role requires an innovative thinker with a strong understanding of sustainability frameworks, stakeholder engagement, and project management to drive meaningful change in a fast-paced, creative industry.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership:

• Develop and implement a comprehensive sustainability strategy aligned with the company's vision and goals.
• Collaborate with the Executive Director of Asset Management to integrate sustainability into asset management practices, ensuring sustainable development and operations of entertainment assets.
• Identify trends, risks, and opportunities in sustainability to influence business decisions.

Program Management:

• Oversee the execution of sustainability programs and projects across the business, focusing on energy efficiency, waste management, water conservation, and carbon footprint reduction.
• Set measurable goals, track performance, and deliver regular reports on sustainability initiatives to internal and external stakeholders.
• Ensure adherence to local regulations, global standards, and certifications (e.g., LEED, WELL, ISO 14001).

Stakeholder Engagement:

• Collaborate with internal teams, including operations, marketing, and facilities, to foster a culture of sustainability.
• Engage with external stakeholders such as government agencies, industry bodies, and community groups to promote sustainable practices.
• Act as the company's sustainability ambassador, participating in forums, conferences, and public discussions.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 34 sustainability professionals.
• Foster a collaborative and innovative team environment to deliver high-impact results.

Research and Innovation:

• Stay updated on emerging technologies, trends, and best practices in sustainability within the entertainment and asset management sectors.
• Recommend and implement innovative solutions to enhance sustainability performance.

Mandatory Requirements:

• 15 years minimum in sustainability.
• Proven success in leading sustainability strategies in complex, multi-stakeholder environments.
• Strong local and sector-specific sustainability network, including the ability to leverage relationships to drive sustainability initiatives and achieve business objectives.
