Assess patients’ medical history and current condition.
Educate patients and their families about the surgical procedure and post-operative care.
Prepare the operating room (OR) by ensuring all surgical tools and equipment are sterilized and ready.
Assist in positioning the patient and applying sterile drapes.
Intraoperative Duties:
Assist the surgical team by handing instruments and supplies during the procedure.
Monitor vital signs and communicate any changes to the surgical team.
Ensure the sterility of the operating field.
Operate and manage surgical equipment as needed.
Monitor the patient’s recovery and report any complications.
Provide pain management and wound care.
Educate patients on post-surgical care and discharge instructions.
Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure a smooth transition from surgery to recovery.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
License & Certification: Registered Nurse (RN) license; Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications. Some positions may require Certified Perioperative Nurse (CNOR) certification.
Experience: Prior experience in surgical or critical care nursing is preferred.

Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
Proficiency in using medical equipment and electronic health records (EHR).
