Position Summary :
We are looking for a highly experienced and driven Senior Supply Chain Manager to lead and optimize the full supply chain lifecycle within a fast-paced, quality-critical yacht manufacturing environment. This strategic role requires a deep understanding of project-based production cycles, marine systems, and a proven ability to manage complex multi-vessel procurement and logistics operations simultaneously.
The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in aligning supply chain operations with business goals, driving supplier performance, ensuring just-in-time deliveries, and mitigating risks across the entire project portfolio—from design and engineering to production and final outfitting.
Core Responsibilities :
Strategic Supply Chain Leadership
- Develop and execute a robust supply chain strategy in line with corporate objectives and yacht production schedules.
- Align supply chain performance with cost targets, lead times, and project quality standards across multiple yacht models or custom builds.
- Collaborate directly with the COO to forecast procurement budgets and support high-level planning.
- Manage global sourcing activities for technical systems (HVAC, propulsion, hydraulics, piping, navigation, etc.), structural components, and high-end outfitting materials.
- Lead negotiation of long-term agreements and framework contracts to secure pricing, availability, and terms.
- Conduct regular supplier audits to ensure compliance with marine standards (CE, RINA, DNV, Lloyd’s, ISO, etc.).
Production-Integrated Supply Coordination
- Anticipate material and equipment needs per production phase; ensure synchronization between procurement, warehouse, and workshop activities.
- Work with Engineering and Planning departments to validate BOMs and align technical drawings with procurement timing.
- Track and resolve supply issues that could impact manufacturing flow or client delivery timelines.
Inventory, Logistics, and Warehouse Oversight
- Implement lean inventory management and ensure full traceability from order to installation.
- Optimize international and local logistics, including import / export documentation and customs regulations specific to marine equipment.
- Oversee warehousing operations to support efficient picking, kitting, and on-time delivery to the production floor.
- Identify opportunities for cost reductions and process improvements across the supply chain.
- Conduct risk assessments and contingency planning for long-lead items and single-source components.
- Lead the introduction of digital tools or KPIs to monitor supply chain performance in real time.
ERP / Digital Systems Management
- Drive ERP (e.g. SAP, Navision, Odoo) and PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) utilization to support accurate RFQ, PO tracking, and BOM integrity.
- Ensure integration between design, purchasing, warehouse, and finance functions through consistent system usage.
- Support automation initiatives, including forecast modeling, digital RFQs, supplier portals, and real-time stock dashboards.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, Naval Architecture, Business, or related field.
- Minimum 5+ years of senior-level supply chain experience in a complex manufacturing environment , preferably in yachting, shipbuilding, or aerospace.
- Demonstrated success in managing multi-million-euro procurement portfolios across multiple concurrent projects.
- Strong understanding of marine-grade equipment , certifications, and material behavior in offshore conditions.
- Proven experience with ERP / PLM software , digital procurement tools, and supplier performance dashboards.
- Fluent in English; proficiency in a second language (e.g. French, Italian, Polish, or Arabic) is a strong asset.
