The key objectives for this role are:

Responsible for the leadership and management of a deployed supply chain project team providing all aspects of supply chain management including materials management, warehousing, expediting, procurement, subcontracts, negotiation and reporting. Key aspects of the role include the direction and management of the supply chain activities for EPC and EPCm projects. The administration and supervision of assigned supply chain personnel working within the project. Ensuring the competence and performance of all assigned supply chain personnel within their role. The Supply Chain manager shall develop and implement strategies for subcontracting that align with the overall project goals and company objectives. This includes identifying potential subcontractors, defining pre-qualification criteria, assessing their capabilities, and establishing partnerships that can adapt to changing project needs. The Supply Chain manager will be also familiar with the prevention, assessment and final resolution of claims and disputes on complex subcontracts.

Clear understanding of the client’s head contract requirements including Wood responsibilities and incorporates those into appropriate project supply chain strategies, plans, procedures and terms and conditions. Understand and manage threats to the commercial position of Wood and Client, and develop plans to mitigate commercial risks. Has strong knowledge of commercial terms and conditions, interfaces with Wood legal/commercial experts and can initiate/discuss adaptations in order to reach a robust commercial agreement. Regularly monitors and reports progress of all project procurement activities. Ensures team regularly update reports/systems with required information to allow accurate reporting, and escalates any critical issues and risks to project management.

Expected:

  • Degree qualified or equivalent in business studies, law, engineering, supply chain or similar discipline or industry equivalent.
  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in supply chain management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role on large-scale EPC and EPCm projects in the oil and gas sector.
  • Extensive track record managing supply chain activities within the Oil and Gas sector.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure.
  • High level of integrity and professionalism.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and innovation in supply chain practices.
  • Advanced knowledge of Subcontractors, commercial evaluations, negotiations and terms and conditions of contract.
  • Advanced knowledge of best practices to ensure the proper management at job site of the (construction) subcontractors, including management of unit price (re-measured) contracts and claim/dispute management.

Key Responsibilities and duties:

  • Strategic Planning: Develop and implement supply chain strategies that align with project goals and organizational objectives, particularly for large-scale EPC projects.
  • Procurement Management: Lead procurement activities, including vendor selection, negotiation, and contract management, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Logistics Coordination: Oversee logistics operations, including transportation, warehousing, and inventory management, to ensure the timely delivery of materials to project sites.
  • Project Collaboration: Work closely with project director and engineering teams to understand project requirements and timelines, facilitating effective communication and coordination.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential supply chain risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize disruptions to project schedules.
