Supplier Quality Engineer

Join us at Halcon as a Supplier Quality Engineer, where you will play a critical role in ensuring that our suppliers meet the highest quality standards, enabling the delivery of conforming products and services.

The Supplier Quality Engineer (PCBA) is responsible for developing and implementing supplier quality standards and control systems to ensure supplied products and processes adhere to company and industry standards. This position involves overseeing testing, verification, and inspection processes, analyzing results, identifying trends, and determining plans for corrective actions. The Supplier Quality Engineer works collaboratively to improve processes that ensure the consistent delivery of quality products.

Key Accountabilities

1. Design and implement supplier quality plans, standards, quality engineering and control capability, testing procedures, and methods for risk reduction of supplied materials, components, or documentation, in line with the stated requirements.
2. Perform detailed review and provide feedback of 2-D drawings, 3D models, electrical/electronic schematics, and software code (as applicable to areas of competency) during the design lifecycle of supplied product.
3. Ensure that supplier improvement plans are in place as required and are based upon sound data, and ensure plans are executed as intended.
4. Carry out supplier maturity assessments and propose development/improvement plans as part of the timely published report.
5. Contribute in Supplier Performance Management (SPM) including preventive and corrective action management, and rating of suppliers in conjunction with Supply Chain.
6. Carry out periodic data analysis on allocated suppliers in a methodical manner to identify and mitigate potential risks to the business.
7. Take part in MRB (Material Review Board) to advise on necessary actions associated with supplied parts, and to put forward appropriate solutions that align with any given constraint.
8. Carry out supplier audits in alignment with an agreed and published supplier audit schedule ensuring effective communication, accurate and timely reporting, and agreeing actions with interested parties as required.
9. Ensure First Article Inspections (FAI) are carried out in accordance with stated requirements, supplier reports are approved, and feedback provided in full.
10. Ensure that Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) is carried out in accordance with stated requirements, and associated deliverables (e.g., PPAP, PSW, MSA, Cpk, FMEA etc) meet said requirements and delivery commitments.
11. Work closely and communicate effectively with key stakeholders on matters affecting business commitments to build and supply Customer-destined product/services, including regular collaboration with Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, and Programmes to name a few.
12. Carry out Incoming Quality verification, validation, test, and processing activities of supplied product, as required by the business from time to time.
13. Ensure that workflows and processes comply with safety regulations and that all documentation is thoroughly completed as per quality guidelines.

Experience & Education Qualifications

Minimum:

1. Experience: 8+ years of extensive experience in a Quality Engineering environment
2. Experience: Experience in Electronic Manufacturing Services working on PCBA
3. Education: Bachelor’s degree in electrical, Electronics, or similar engineering or a related field.

Preferred:

1. Experience: 3+ years as a Supplier Quality Engineer in the Defense Industry with regional exposure.
2. Education: Master’s degree in a related Engineering discipline or American Society for Quality (ASQ) certification.
