Substation Project Manager

Overall responsibility for the successful initiation, planning, design, execution, monitoring, controlling and closure of a project and reporting to Operations Manager.

Job Purpose:

Overall responsibility for the successful initiation, planning, design, execution, monitoring, controlling and closure of a project and reporting to Operations Manager.

Principle Accountabilities:

• Manage the design, drawings, and documentation for the OHL Project in coordination with designers, surveyors, engineers and client representatives.
• Co-ordinate with client for generation of work-orders and carry out the resource planning for execution of the project.
• Project estimation with the help of design team and obtain approval from Management & client.
• Complete site management in terms of material, equipment and manpower.
• Assist the design team for cost-effective and efficient designing of the project.
• Should have strong knowledge of the codes & standards for OHL/Substation items & associated electrical systems.
• Monitoring project progress and driving the team to achieve the project completion timeline.
• Attaining daily, weekly and monthly review meetings with client.
• Coordinating the procurement process for the project and ensuring the material availability for construction. Sub-contractor and supplier management with the help of procurement and Commercial team.
• Managing the complete installation, testing, commissioning, final measurement and the approval for the same from client representatives and assisting the finance dept. for billing. Supervise the project construction team.

Experience & Skills:

• Experienced to use standard safety & quality procedures of such Project.
• Able to coordinate measurements, certification & invoicing.
• Have Job Related Competencies: Educational Qualifications & Experience Profile:
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical.
• More than Ten (10) years in OHL project (132 KV) in Oil and Gas operation field and/or in Utility sectors.
• Soft Skills: people and Project management skills.
• Have good experience in Electrical systems, OHL line, Substation equipment.
• Have good knowledge of various design parameters for OHL/Substation project.
