STRUCTURAL INSPECTOR

Stantec is seeking a Structural Inspector to join our dynamic team in Dubai.

Responsibilities:

1. Monitor and inspect structural works such as concrete piling and steel structures to assure compliance with structural plans and specifications.
2. Review shop drawings, inspection requests, method statements, and other submissions from contractors.
3. Maintain a nonconformance register and ensure contractors perform remedial, preventive, and corrective works.
4. Monitor field variations and keep the Senior Resident Engineer informed of these changes.
5. Monitor records and documentation of all work done, including records of change works, tests, inspections, status of work, safety site diary, materials, equipment, onsite labor, dayworks, etc.
6. Monitor contractor compliance with the Safety Program and all applicable safety codes and regulations.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in relevant disciplines: Civil or Structural Engineering.
2. Five (5) years experience in a similar or equivalent position, with a minimum of two (2) years Middle East site experience.
3. Excellent English oral and written communication skills.
4. Knowledge of building construction materials, systems, and trade practices is required.
5. Understanding of sustainable building goals and objectives.
6. Local authority knowledge and understanding.
7. Good HSE awareness.
8. Computer proficiency.
