Structural Engineer

The person overall in charge for project management, inspection, and execution in implementation and supervision.

KEY OBJECTIVES

Overall works in rendering engineering and construction in the field of finishing, Civil/Structural and Infrastructure Projects (high-rise commercial building, bridge, tunnel/underpass, and road). Site supervision upon the construction and coordination with all disciplines.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Visit and inspect the current fast-track projects in Dubai and other Emirates to ensure project technical specifications are strictly followed according to the contract and drawings.
2. Proactively evaluate and remedy any site-based coordination and quality issues with the contractor in consultation with company designers.
3. Prepare and submit to Senior Project Manager/Designers fortnightly progress reports for the works.
4. Ensure the contract program, issue NCRs as necessary, and follow up with time-bound compliance by the contractor.
5. Visit various precast plants/workshops on a regular basis to review/inspect sign-off concrete element productions/castings/dispatch, etc., along with the main contractor's QA/QC Engineer to ensure quality and timely production delivery to site.
6. Liaise with the authorities to achieve structural approvals for project submissions.
7. Conduct site visits and coordination to ensure designs are implemented correctly.
8. Review shop drawings, material submittals, etc., for ensuring successful site progress for structure.
9. Possess detailed knowledge of international design codes and their local application.

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor of Engineering (BE) or Master's Degree (ME) in civil engineering from a recognized university.
Minimum 5 to 7 years of local experience related to in-site and precast construction, QA/QC inspections, and management of activities on site.
Must have Dubai Municipality Registration.
Must have a valid UAE driving license in view of the site-based nature of duties.
Must possess precast concrete construction experience with practical knowledge of QA/QC inspections and audits.
Must be energetic with team spirit and a ‘hands-on’ approach.
Must have a valid NOC from the current employer.
