Structural Draftsman

Job Description
PURPOSE & SCOPE:
Jobs at this level are part of a structural drafting team engaged in the preparation of engineering drafting input for offshore projects. Job holders are closely supervised in carrying out their activities.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Prepares detailed engineering drawings, shop and fabrication drawings, cut lists, nesting plans, Input for Control sheets, MTOs etc. under supervision of senior colleagues.
2. Ensures all works to be performed as per the job specifications, guidelines, company procedures etc as advised by senior team members.
3. Undertakes back-Drafting of drawings to reflect corrections that need to be made to initial documentation. Revises drawings incorporating subsequent modifications.
4. Assists in the production of “as built” drawings following receipt of marked up drawings from the project team.
5. Undertakes engineering site surveys under the guidance of senior team members.

Skills Required

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

1. Higher National Certificate or equivalent, and an ITI Certificate in Drafting (NCVT). Engineering 3-year diploma will be preferred.
2. 4 year’s previous Drafting experience with at least 2 year in the oil and gas sector. Offshore structural drafting experience will be preferred.
3. Good knowledge of written and spoken English.
4. Experienced and competent Computer Aided Design (CAD) operator (AutoCAD latest release).
