Structural Design Engineer

Job Responsibilities:

• Create detailed drawings and specifications for construction teams to follow.
• Conduct site visits and inspections to ensure that construction is proceeding according to the design plans and specifications.
• Work closely with architects, construction teams, and other professionals to ensure that the structural design integrates well with the overall design of the building or structure.
• Stay up-to-date with industry standards and regulations to ensure that the designs meet all necessary requirements. Consider the strength of construction materials and select appropriately.
• Provide technical advice on safe designs and construction.
• Obtain planning and/or building regulations approval.
• Analyze configurations of the basic components of a structure.
• Liaise with professional staff such as architects and engineers.
• Monitor and inspect all work undertaken by contractors to ensure structural soundness.
• Administer contracts and manage projects.
• Inspect properties to evaluate the conditions and foundations.
• Review and approve construction plans to ensure that they are accurate and meet all necessary requirements.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Strong technical skills in structural engineering principles, as well as proficiency in computer aided design (CAD) software, such as AutoCAD or Revit.
• Expert experience in project management.
• Advanced knowledge of construction methods, materials, and legal regulations.
• Analytical thinker with strong problem-solving skills. Meticulous attention to detail with superb organizational skills. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Excellent communication skills.
