Silkhaus is a Dubai-headquartered end-to-end technology platform that powers short-term rentals (STRs) for guests, real estate owners, and operators. We have an all-star founding team and leading investors (Nordstar Ventures, Nuwa Capital, Global Founders Capital, VentureSouq, Yuj Ventures, and several high-impact family offices and entrepreneurs), with experience in hyper-scaling proptechs and emerging markets technology businesses. In addition to running the largest portfolio of short-term rentals across emerging markets, we are building the global technology stack for STRs operators and real estate owners to run cutting-edge short-term rental businesses.

What is the role

As Strategy Manager, you will be an entrepreneur-in-residence at Silkhaus. This position is a high-impact, high-visibility one across our organization, reporting directly to our Founder and CEO. You will play a crucial role in supporting the leadership team and optimizing Silkhaus overall efficiency and effectiveness by streamlining operations, implementing growth initiatives, and driving the investor relations work stream. If you're keen to influence company-level decision making, acting as a node between departments and seeing projects through from ideation to execution - then this is for you.

What do you bring to the table

• They call you an analytical guru: Your analytical chops are those of an engineer. You know how to structure and lead a strategic project and how to maximize its success. You thrive on getting insights from market, business and financial data to inform decision making. You'll have at least 5 years of experience in management consulting, investment banking or at a hyper growth startup.
• You are a pro in stakeholder management: By this we mean not only transparency and directness, but also a high degree of savoir faire. You'll frequently collaborate with senior leadership and investors as well as teammates from different cultures, levels, and backgrounds - you should feel at ease with all of them. Clear and compelling communication is bound to build trust and credibility and amplify your impact.
• You have seen zero to one environments before. Given that Silkhaus is at the Series A stage, the ability to adapt rapidly and to thrive in early stage environments will be critical success factors. Things change fast at this stage - Silkhaus moves at 300 mph. If your time in consulting and early stage startups taught you to scale a learning curve quickly, be ready to apply that here.
• Experimentation is your secret craving: A traditional background in consulting or banking is important for skill building - but we also want you to leave those traditions behind. As Strategy Manager you'll relish getting your hands dirty and have a bias toward action. You are proactive, agile, and eager to find the best path forward. And if you don't see the desired results, you reassess your approach and execute a new one.
• You are a leader and an entrepreneur at heart: whether it's actively influencing our work environment for the Silkhaus team to thrive, creating crystal clear alignment at the top and disseminating it across the org, or challenging the status quo - you're at the forefront of setting leadership principles that can be rolled out company-wide and work at scale. You might want to start your own venture one day.
• Ability to speak Arabic is a plus, strategy consulting (MBB experience) is a must.
