Steel Fixer Rebar Bending Machine Operator

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Steel Fixer / Rebar Bending Machine Operator to join our construction team in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing and installing reinforcing steel bars (rebar) in concrete structures as well as operating rebar bending machines to shape steel according to project specifications.

Responsibilities:

• Operate rebar bending machines to cut and shape reinforcing steel bars according to project blueprints and specifications.
• Install and secure rebar in formwork before concrete is poured, ensuring proper positioning and spacing.
• Read and interpret construction blueprints and technical drawings to determine rebar requirements.
• Measure, cut, and bend steel bars using manual and power tools.
• Tie rebar together using wire and pliers to create reinforcing cages or mats.
• Ensure all work is completed in compliance with safety regulations and quality standards.
• Perform regular maintenance and basic troubleshooting on rebar bending machines.
• Collaborate with other construction team members to coordinate rebar installation with other project activities.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area to promote efficiency and safety.
• Report any safety concerns or equipment issues to the supervisor promptly.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 3 years of experience in steel fixing or rebar bending machine operation.
• Proficiency in operating rebar bending machines and knowledge of steel fixing techniques.
• Ability to read and interpret construction blueprints and technical drawings.
• Strong understanding of construction industry standards and safety protocols.
• Physical strength and stamina to perform demanding tasks in various weather conditions.
• Basic math skills for accurate measurements and calculations.
• High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in construction or related field preferred.
• Valid construction safety certification (e.g. OSHA).
• Detail-oriented approach with a commitment to quality and precision.
• Reliable and efficient work ethic with the ability to meet project deadlines.
• Familiarity with different types of reinforcing steel and their applications.
• Willingness to work in a team environment and communicate effectively with colleagues.
• Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces when necessary.
• Valid work authorization for Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
