The Staff Midwife (SM) is accountable for the coordination of nursing care, including direct patient care, patient/family education, and transitions of care. SM’s role is to provide antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal care to childbearing women and their newborns according to the Midwifery Scope of Practice as defined by the regulatory body. The SM supports professional nursing practice across practice settings and across the continuum of care to meet the needs of the patient and family. The SM will understand, support, and promote the mission, vision, and values of SSMC; The SM will adhere to and promote the Professional Midwives Code of Conduct for Abu Dhabi and UAE.
Required:
• NLT 2 years’ experience as a Midwife in a maternity hospital or appropriate setting.
Educational Qualification:
• Bachelor’s degree in Midwifery or equivalent qualification in Midwifery (minimum three (3) years course duration) OR
• BSc in Nursing or equivalent (minimum three (3) years course duration) and Midwifery Certificate (minimum one (1) year course duration) OR
• Associate degree in Nursing from Canada or USA (minimum two (2) years course duration) and successful completion of the National exam and Midwifery Certificate (minimum one (1) year course duration).
• AND Valid/current national license.
• AND BLS.
