An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Oil & Gas Substation Commissioning Engineer to join the Siemens Team in Abu Dhabi to lead the execution of a major Electrical O&G Project.
Your Role
You will be responsible for Installation, Testing & Commissioning of electrical power system equipment such as Switchgears, Power & Distribution Transformers, Protection Relays, Control & Protection Panels etc. in power plants and substations (Utilities, O&G and Industrial Market).
Must have a thorough knowledge on Substation Protection and Controls, Protection Schemes, and Communication Protocols such as IEC61850.
Hands-on experience in Installation, testing & commissioning of MV/LV switchgears, Power & Distribution Transformers, Current Transformers, Voltage Transformers, and various protection relays. Fault Troubleshooting and Analysis for Switchgears, Power & Distribution Transformers & Protection Relays/Systems.
In-depth knowledge of installation of Protection Relays including testing of Overcurrent, Earth fault, Differential, Distance, Underfrequency and LIBBP/HIBBP relays in Utility and O&G sectors with 100% success. Experience with different manufacturer relays will be a plus.
Hands-on experience working with different manufacturer test equipment for Transformer, Switchgears (MV/LV) & Protection relays such as OMICRON (Various models), Megger, Doble, Programma, Fluke etc.
Must be experienced with the preparation of ITC (Installation Testing Commissioning) Schedule for Electrical system in coordination with stakeholders including customers, vendors, and different project teams.
Preparation of Method Statement, preparation of NCR/Incident/RCA reports etc.
Support Engineering Manager, project manager for site planning and execution topics.
Training of Operating Personnel at the site for commissioned Electrical Equipment.
Follow HSE principles and guidelines is a must. Show responsibility at the site by adhering to HSE of the main contractor.
May require traveling for the I&C jobs within the Middle East region.
Your Qualifications And Skills
Bachelor Engineering degree from local or international University or Technical Institute in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering disciplines.
Good communication skills in the English language (written and spoken) with the ability to work in a team environment.
Min 5 years’ experience in Medium and Low Voltage Power Distribution Designs is a must.
