Plans and controls the operation and routing of international telecom network and ensures that Etisalat Networks comply with the global standards, procedures and guidelines. Ensures the service continuity during major outages and service delivery efficiency in order to optimize the use of the existing network. Coordinates with concerned teams for the migration of circuits from one International Gateway to another, integration of new network nodes, such as IPX and arranges for meeting contingencies and secondary route requirements. Acts as the single point of contact for technical matters with the list of accounts relevant to their region.
Responsibilities
Optimize international traffic routing plans in their allocated region for IDD, ISDN and 3G video telephony services taking into account commercial agreements, QoS and strategic aspects.
Develop SS7 test plans and issue relevant Work Orders for new interconnections and network re-configuration (migration, expansion, introduction of new nodes, etc.) in their respective region.
Monitor SS7 traffic load for their respective carriers on regular basis, identify overloads and take necessary action for network expansion for smooth flow of traffic.
Plan and implement the contingency plans to ensure service continuity to/from their accounts during major outages.
Process and observe the KPIs/QoS reports for related services on regular basis and take appropriate actions to overcome any abnormalities.
Take necessary measures to eliminate any fraudulent activities whenever reported.
Advocate and handle all new assignments and projects associated with technology development and future plans (e.g. IPX, HD voice, Pathfinders, SS7oIP/Sigtran, HSL links) in their respective region.
Liaise with Engineering to ensure that all operational changes are notified and followed up promptly and effectively.
Coordinate internally as well as with their accounts on all matters for operational/network activities.
Ensure that all activities are carried out in accordance with international standards and procedures.
Monitor their accounts network and traffic parameters and take all necessary actions in order to ensure the optimized utilization of existing resources/networks.
Oversee the analysis of historical data from different routes in terms of circuits/traffic in order to optimize network service provisioning.
Manage the investigation of operational issues related to drop/inadequacy/inconsistency of service quality and traffic parameters and ensure prompt, efficient and reliable resolution of issues with minimal service degradation.
Liaise with other departments, particularly Engineering, Marketing and RA, as well as with their carriers and partners (national and international) in order to resolve issues/concerns/criticalities and to ensure optimum voice and signaling service delivery, efficiency and quality.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree.
5 years of experience in related fields.
