We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Specialist Plastic Surgeon to join our Aesthetics team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in performing both reconstructive and aesthetic surgeries, as well as in-depth knowledge of surgical techniques, patient care, and the latest trends in the field of plastic surgery. This role involves consulting with patients, performing surgeries, and providing post-operative care.
Key Responsibilities:
Consultation & Diagnosis:
Conduct comprehensive consultations with patients to understand their medical history, concerns, and treatment goals.
Perform physical examinations and utilize diagnostic tools to evaluate the need for surgical intervention.
Discuss potential risks, benefits, and outcomes of various surgical options with patients.
Provide recommendations for non-surgical treatments where applicable.
Surgical Procedures:
Perform a variety of plastic and reconstructive surgeries, including but not limited to, cosmetic enhancements, reconstructive surgeries, hand surgeries, burns, and trauma surgeries.
Utilize advanced surgical techniques and the latest technologies to achieve optimal results.
Handle complex cases involving reconstructive surgery for trauma or congenital abnormalities.
Work closely with other medical specialists to ensure comprehensive care for patients with multi-disciplinary needs.
Post-Operative Care:
Monitor patient progress following surgery, ensuring optimal healing and minimal complications.
Provide detailed post-operative care instructions and support for recovery.
Address any concerns or complications that arise during recovery.
Schedule follow-up appointments to track healing and results, and provide additional treatment as necessary.
Collaboration:
Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary medical team, including anesthesiologists, nurses, and other surgeons, to provide high-quality care.
Mentor and supervise junior staff or medical students, sharing knowledge and expertise.
Research & Education:
Stay updated with the latest developments, techniques, and advancements in the field of plastic surgery.
Participate in ongoing professional development and training to maintain certification and improve surgical skills.
Engage in research activities, contributing to medical journals, conferences, or presentations.
Administrative Duties:
Maintain accurate, up-to-date patient records, including pre-operative assessments, surgical notes, and post-operative care documentation.
Assist in developing protocols and best practices for the department.
Ensure compliance with medical regulations, patient safety standards, and ethical practices.
Required Qualifications:
Education:
Medical degree (MD or equivalent) from an accredited institution.
Board certification in Plastic Surgery (or equivalent certification depending on the region).
Completion of a recognized plastic surgery residency program.
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a specialist plastic surgery role.
Demonstrated expertise in both aesthetic and reconstructive surgery.
Experience with complex surgeries, including facial reconstruction, burn treatments, and hand surgery.
Skills and Competencies:
Proficient in using surgical instruments, technology, and techniques in plastic surgery.
Strong understanding of anatomy, tissue healing, and patient care protocols.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex procedures to patients clearly.
Ability to work in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment.
High attention to detail, with a commitment to delivering safe and effective patient outcomes.
