Job description

Physician will maintain an active Privilege per the specialty that is consistent with the scope of services and the required experiences to practice it, which is renewable every 2 years. A physician shall particularly observe the following:

  1. Comply with the rules, regulations, and procedures of practicing the Profession as per his/her grade and Specialty.
  2. Care for women during prenatal, natal, and postnatal periods.
  3. Monitor patient’s condition and progress and reevaluate treatments as necessary.
  4. Perform Cesarean sections or other surgical procedures as needed to preserve patients' health and deliver babies safely.
  5. Interview new patients to assess their symptoms, needs, or problems; record and utilize their medical history for diagnosis.
  6. Perform well-women exams that include pap smears, pelvic, and breast exams.
  7. Conduct follow-ups with patients to monitor and track their condition.
  8. Order and analyze necessary tests, screenings, biopsies, scans, etc., to effectively diagnose a problem.
  9. Direct, advise, and supervise medical staff including nurses, physician assistants, med techs, etc., on proper procedures and protocol.
  10. Treat diseases and injuries of a woman’s reproductive organ and prescribe postnatal and prenatal care.
  11. Explain procedures and discuss test results or prescribed treatments as necessary.
  12. Maintain records of the patient including present, past, family history prior to diagnosing or treating the case.
  13. Provide prenatal care for women and their babies before birth.
  14. Prescribe the right drugs, compresses, and antibiotics that should be taken by the patient.
  15. Obstetricians and Gynecologists are responsible for planning and procedures in every operation; all patients depend on them, so they should plan well.
  16. Deliver babies and perform other birth-related duties as needed, such as inducing labor, performing Cesarean section births, and performing emergency surgery when needed.
  17. Monitor the mother and the baby throughout childbirth and oversee the administration of medications.
  18. Conduct Papanicolaou screenings to detect malignant and premalignant processes in the ectocervix in order to prevent cervical cancer.
  19. Provide dietary tips and conduct regular examinations for pregnant women.
  20. Suggest alternative treatments in case there is no health progress.
  21. Perform surgeries in case of chronic and serious reproductive disorders.
  22. Provide health care tips for the babies.
  23. Prescribe treatment and determine the quantity and usage in legible writing, including the name, signature, and date on the prescription; alert the patient or their family to the importance of adhering to treatment instructions and to any significant and expected side effects of the medical or surgical treatment.
  24. Inform the patient’s family of the nature and degree of seriousness of their illness.
  25. Monitor complications of medical or surgical treatment and initiate remedial action where possible.
  26. Cooperate with other physicians involved in the patient’s treatment; provide information on the patient’s medical condition and the course of treatment whenever requested to do so and consult with a specialist colleague if the case requires.

Qualifications:

Education: MBBS or MBChB or equivalent qualification from an accredited and recognized university. Specialty in Obs/Gyne must be obtained from a recognized and accredited university.

License: The physician will always maintain an active license in their home country and an active DOH License.
