Job description

Role Overview:

  • Act as the company’s sole focal and ultimate subject matter expert on all working practices and regulatory requirements in relation to the flydubai eTechlog system, overseeing its deployment and operation while continually enhancing its contribution to efficiency gain initiatives.
  • Ensure the eTechlog system is operational 24/7 across the flydubai network by putting in place the necessary resources to resolve any system-related issues and individual aircraft issues with minimal operational impact.
  • Ensure all changes/working practices to the flydubai eTechlog system are controlled and appropriately approved to maintain compliance with GCAA regulatory requirements and approval conditions.
  • Act as the responsible person to the GCAA on all airworthiness and approval matters related to the eTechlog, ensuring full demonstrative compliance with authority requirements.
  • Establish, control, and amend flydubai’s eTechlog procedures to align with company requirements and initiatives, serving as the designated stakeholder and process owner for audits, findings, and improvement initiatives.
  • Manage and allocate all internal resources to ensure successful eTechlog operations on all flydubai aircraft.
  • Manage the induction of new aircraft into the eTechlog system in accordance with flydubai procedures.
  • In collaboration with senior management and key stakeholders from Engineering, Maintenance, the Chief Pilots office, and the IT department, define and deploy all working practices in relation to the use of the eTechlog within flydubai.
  • Design, compile, and approve all required training materials for all end users such as maintenance staff, pilots, cabin crew, and engineering staff.
  • Define the required training program for all existing staff recurrency and new joiners and ensure that this can be rolled out companywide within the defined timelines.
  • Conduct eTechlog training sessions for key users in Engineering, Maintenance, Training, Cabin, and Flight Ops departments as required.
  • Maintain the Mobile Device Management system for eTechlog devices by creating and enforcing compliance policies.
  • Supervise the development and delivery of technology, such as report dashboards for Engineering and Technical Flight Ops, including business case analysis and impact analysis.
  • Conduct business process mapping, evaluate options, and implement changes to enhance eTechlog functionality and processes.
  • Develop the budget for eTechlog devices, backup devices, and procurement of new eTechlog modules based on incoming new aircraft.
  • Maintain the interface of eTechlog with other Engineering, Maintenance, and Flight Ops systems such as AIMS, AMOS, and Airvault.
  • Manage the e-signature and digital storage processes of the eTechlog documents to meet regulatory requirements, ensuring aircraft departures are not delayed.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (3+ years)
  • Engineering Degree OR Engineering Apprenticeship
  • Fluent in English
  • Extensive knowledge of legislative requirements related to aircraft technical logbook systems and their practical application, with a minimum of 7 years of experience. Experience with report designing, SQL, and conducting training sessions would be advantageous.
  • Experience with eTechlog platforms would be advantageous. Skilled in the implementation and management of Engineering IT systems, with a high level of IT literacy.
  • 7 - 9 years of relevant experience.
  • ICAO Type 2 Aircraft Maintenance Engineer’s License (without an Engineering Degree or Engineering Apprenticeship)
