A Spa Therapist with Waldorf Astoria Hotels & Resorts is responsible for providing a wide range of spa services, including massage therapies and body treatments. This position aims to provide tailored, high-end experiences that adhere to the hotel’s luxury standards and create an unforgettable guest experience.
What will I be doing
As a Spa Therapist, you are responsible for managing and carrying out treatments to deliver an excellent Guest experience while helping to achieve sales targets. Specifically, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:
- Delivering a diverse range of spa treatments, such as massages, facials, body scrubs, wraps, and therapeutic services, in accordance with the hotel’s premium standards.
- Conducting personalized consultations with guests to understand their unique needs and customizing treatments accordingly.
- Ensuring treatments are carried out in a professional, hygienic, and comfortable manner for every guest.
- Offering a comprehensive wellness experience and providing expert advice on aftercare and home care products.
- Staying well-informed about spa products and services, actively promoting retail sales and enhancing guest engagement.
- Ensuring treatment rooms and spa facilities are consistently clean, organized, and well-stocked.
- Adhering to strict health and safety guidelines, including proper sanitization and sterilization procedures.
- Maintaining a high level of professionalism through appropriate grooming, communication, and etiquette.
- Keeping up to date with industry trends, new wellness techniques, and emerging treatments to enhance the service offerings.
- Collaborating with the spa reception team to manage guest appointments and ensure a seamless experience.
- Actively promoting spa services, packages, and offers to increase bookings and revenue.
- Addressing guest inquiries, concerns, and requests promptly and courteously, ensuring satisfaction.
- Supporting team goals through collaboration to meet sales and service objectives.
- Participating in ongoing training and development to continually refine skills and maintain service excellence.
- Demonstrating expertise in various therapies such as aromatherapy, reflexology, and hydrotherapy to enhance guest experiences.
- Customizing treatments for specific needs, including prenatal massages, deep tissue therapy, and post-sports recovery.
- Assisting with inventory management to ensure adequate stock of oils, creams, and spa essentials.
- Working alongside spa management to design and introduce new treatment menus and wellness programs tailored to guest preferences.

- A minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Spa Therapist in a luxury spa, hotel, or similar upscale environment.
- Certification or diploma in Massage Therapy, Aesthetics, or a related wellness field.
- Proficiency in a diverse range of spa treatments, including various massage techniques, facials, and body therapies.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact with guests in a professional and approachable manner.
- Ability to customize spa experiences to meet individual guest needs, ensuring relaxation and rejuvenation.
- In-depth knowledge of spa products with the ability to make tailored retail recommendations to guests.
- Dedication to maintaining a pristine, organized, and luxurious spa setting.
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays, in accordance with the spa's operational requirements.
