Sous Chef Our client, an Abu Dhabi based F&B firm, is currently looking for a Sous Chef to be part of their rear of residence operations. The prospect will have the following duties:
Sustaining the head cook or executive cook in the general running of the kitchen.
Supervising the work of the kitchen brigade.
Planning the menu and preparing food items, including specialty or seasonal offerings.
Estimating required supplies and submitting orders as necessary.
Working with the workflow and schedules of other kitchen employees.
Ensuring that all kitchen procedures remain in compliance with food health and safety guidelines.
Training staff and introducing new cooking methods to the team.
Preparing and cooking supplied meals.
Handling and resolving any issues that may arise quickly and efficiently.
Requirements
5 to 10 years of experience, with a minimum of 2 years in a Sous Chef position.
Experience managing various cuisines; Italian is a benefit.
Experience in working with other cooks and chefs.
Kitchen management skills and effective use of time and resources.
Cooking, food preparation, and plating skills.
Creative use of ingredients and recipe design.
Ability to cover all job lines as needed.
Leadership and decision-making skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Fast problem identification and resolution.
Ability to work under pressure.
Ability to work as part of a team.
