Job Description
The Solution Architect will report directly to the Lead Solution Architect. You will be part of a team that is focused on harnessing the power of the cloud, data analytics, the Internet of Things, and user design thinking to deliver on the promise of intelligent buildings and smart cities that connect communities in ways that make people’s lives – and the world – better.
As a Solution Architect, you will work with customers & partners to conceive, design, and implement technology solutions and map the business requirements to systems/technical requirements to ensure they are in line with the enterprise architectural plan. You will partner with business and technology leaders at Johnson Controls and with our customers to help them choose the best technical architecture to solve their business needs.
You will be expected to work at JCI’s office in Dubai and/or at customer sites in UAE.
How you will do it
As an experienced Solution Architect, you will use your technical expertise to review, interpret and respond to detailed business requirements to ensure alignment between customer expectations and JCI solutions. You will be expected to work closely with JCI customers, partners and internal stakeholders to carry out the following responsibilities:
- System architecture Define logical architecture and data flows for Open Blue solutions
Identify data requirements
Arrange and attend customer design workshops as required
Prepare Solution Architecture document
- Authentication Liaise with customer IT for enterprise SSO
Plan authentication & authorization for Platform and applications
- Data security & privacy Coordinate Privacy Impact Assessments (PIA)
Coordinate cyber-security assessments and workshops
- Define integrations Coordinate with manufacturers to get API specs
Coordinate with manufacturers to arrange test systems
Liaise with connector team to ensure that they have everything they need
Prepare Interface Control Documents as required
- Open Blue Bridge (OBB) gateway design Identify OBB quantity, spec & configuration
Define network architecture for OBB connectivity
Coordinate any customer and regulatory IT approvals
- OBB deployment support Arrange & test network firewalls, proxies, DNS, remote access, etc.
Support branch engineer in installing and configuring OBBs
Install, configure & test connectors – UAT & production
- Test lab Work with customer and suppliers to prepare test lab
Install and configure connectors in test lab
- Product delivery Liaise with JCI product teams for any product changes
Support the delivery of any custom configuration or reports
- Product & platform support Finding, reporting, and coordinating the resolution of problems in the Open Blue platform and applications
- Post-deployment support Support OBB software updates
Support OBB and OBC connector updates
Support OBB connectivity and data-flow issues
Open Blue Enterprise Manager (OBEM) / and Companion support & diagnostics
- Identify opportunities for change requests
Desired Candidate Profile
Required
- Minimum 3 years’ experience of IoT, messaging systems, event-driven design and serverless computing
- Minimum 3 years’ experience of cloud security
- Minimum 3 years’ experience of designing, deploying and testing integrations using APIs, SDKs, message busses and standard protocols.
- Minimum 2 years of experience working with cloud technologies and PaaS services on Microsoft Azure
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, across all levels and environments
- Fluent written and spoken English language skills
Preferred
- Azure Cloud Certifications
- Experience of JCI OpenBlue Platform and applications
- Experience of developing software in C#.NET, Node.JS and Angular
