Job Description:

As a Software Engineer, you will be responsible for building, extending, optimizing, and maintaining a reconciliation platform. You will also play a critical role in providing technical support and solutions to business users of the Corona Reconciliation and Exceptions Management software. You will work closely with the bank's internal teams to ensure seamless operation and address any issues that arise.

Product Responsibilities

• Provide first-line technical support to business users of the Corona Reconciliation and Exceptions Management software.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to the Corona software, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
• Collaborate with the bank's IT and business teams to understand user requirements and provide appropriate technical solutions.
• Conduct root cause analysis for recurring issues and implement preventive measures.
• Develop and maintain detailed technical documentation, including troubleshooting guides, user manuals, and support logs.
• Assist in the implementation of software updates and patches, ensuring compatibility and stability.
• Provide training and guidance to business users on the effective use of the Corona software.
• Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction by managing and prioritizing support requests efficiently.

Development Responsibilities

1. Core Reconciliation Logic Development

Design and implement algorithms to match, compare, and reconcile high volumes of data across different sources (e.g., transactions, trades, payments). Develop rules and workflows to identify mismatches, exceptions, and anomalies. Automate data cleansing and transformation to improve reconciliation accuracy.

2. Data Integration and Processing

Build connectors and pipelines to integrate data from external systems, APIs, and file formats (e.g., CSV, XML, JSON). Optimize the data ingestion process for real-time and batch processing. Implement validation and transformation logic to standardize incoming data for reconciliation. Develop backend services to handle reconciliation logic, exception workflows, and business rules. Use programming languages like Java, Python, or C# to build scalable and maintainable application components. Implement secure APIs to allow external systems to interact with the application.

4. Performance Optimization

Optimize application performance for high-volume environments (e.g., millions of transactions). Use indexing, caching, and parallel processing techniques to enhance data reconciliation speed and accuracy. Profile and refactor code to reduce latency and resource consumption.

5. Automation and Exception Handling

Automate recurring reconciliation tasks to reduce manual intervention. Implement workflows for exception resolution, including alerts, notifications, and resolution tracking.

6. Security and Compliance

Develop secure features to protect sensitive financial data (e.g., encryption, access control). Ensure the application complies with regulatory standards like GDPR, HIPAA, or financial industry-specific guidelines.

7. Integration with SmartStream Products

Customize and extend the functionality of SmartStream's Corona platform, tailoring it to client needs. Ensure seamless integration with other SmartStream solutions (e.g., TLM).

9. Reporting and Analytics

Develop reporting tools to provide detailed insights into reconciliation results, trends, and exception patterns. Integrate analytics to monitor reconciliation performance and highlight areas for improvement.

10. Testing and Debugging

Write unit tests, integration tests, and end-to-end tests to ensure application reliability. Debug and resolve application issues, particularly those related to data mismatches or system integrations.
