Social Media Manager, Condé Nast Traveller Middle East

Condé Nast Traveller Middle East (CNT ME) is looking for a creative and innovative Social Media Manager to join our global audience development, social, and analytics team.

An ideal candidate will understand how to use social media to develop, engage, and inform audiences across platforms and be aware of emerging channels and how CNT ME can use them effectively. This role will work closely with other social and audience development team members to develop and execute a social strategy including video across key platforms (Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and other emerging channels) execute performance reports, and deliver actions and insights, as well as manage daily posting, process writing, editing and defining the visual direction of social content.

This person will be embedded within the Condé Nast Traveller Middle East editorial team, but report directly to the Global Associate Director of Social for CNT. They will also work closely with their local Audience Development counterpart and video counterpart (along with analysts, editors, reporters, and designers) to create and optimise content for social platforms.They should be comfortable taking a leadership position for social inside CNT ME, working cross-functionally with multiple departments from editorial to PR, video, commercial, art, and design to bring the brand to life on social.This role is intended for someone with strong writing and visual skills and enthusiasm about joining a leading travel brand.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day posting, editing and optimisation of content on multiple social media platforms including Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, etc.
  • Master CNT ME’s editorial voice and tone, which may be different between platforms
  • Select imagery, video and visual content that engages audiences
  • Plan, design and implement successful social strategies on cover reveals, tentpoles and global and local stories
  • Adapt and realise the Global CNT social strategy locally, based on local market conditions and culture
  • Brainstorm new ideas and plan rollout strategies for testing with the audience development team
  • Adjust social strategy according to KPI pacing and report on any wins and losses
  • Report on content performance and present social insights and best practices to various stakeholders
  • Collaborate with video producers on ideation and creation of social first videos and franchises
  • Work with the commerce team to strategize ways to increase traffic (and therefore revenue) to commerce content
  • Collaborate with the Sales team for the implementation of sponsorships through social media

Primary Skills & Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience as a Social Media Manager, preferably for a company in the Media, Creative and Travel industries
  • Professional working proficiency in English and, ideally, Arabic
  • Ability to identify and select powerful images and videos
  • Strong writing skills for captions, headlines and visual storytelling; An established ability to synthesise and communicate information quickly
  • Strong editorial judgement, with a passion for the topics and the tone of voice proposed by Condé Nast Traveller Middle East editorial team
  • Video editing and asset creation important - experience of video strategy a bonus
  • Community management experience
  • Excellent organisational skills, focus, and attention to detail
  • Able to work outside standard working hours (occasional evenings and weekends)
  • Experience in working on social engagement strategies for video and audio
  • Good understanding of social media analytics and how data can inform a successful editorial and social strategy
  • Desired: Experience of working cross-culturally
  • Willingness to travel
