Site Reliability Engineer

We are looking for a proactive and versatile Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to ensure the reliability, performance, and optimal functioning of critical systems for enterprise customers. This role involves resolving technical issues, maintaining system performance, and delivering excellent customer satisfaction. The SRE will divide their time and focus between system administration and network & security tasks, adapting as operational needs evolve.

Key Responsibilities:

Skillset A – Mandatory:

1. Virtualization: Administer VMware environments to support and manage virtualized infrastructure, ensuring seamless performance and minimal downtime.
2. Incident Management: Address and resolve system issues promptly to reduce downtime, utilizing effective incident response protocols.
3. Cloud Technologies: Demonstrate a foundational understanding of cloud platforms such as Azure or Oracle Cloud for managing and supporting cloud infrastructure.

Skillset B – System Administration (30%–70%):

1. Windows & Active Directory (AD): Manage and support Windows server environments and Active Directory services, ensuring smooth user authentication and security.
2. Database Management: Maintain, optimize, and troubleshoot SQL databases, including backup and recovery tasks using tools like Rubrik.
3. Linux Systems: Provide support for and manage Linux-based systems, ensuring optimal performance and troubleshooting as required.

Skillset C – Network & Security (30%–70%):

1. Network Security: Configure, monitor, and manage Fortinet firewalls to maintain and enhance network security.
2. Load Balancers: Deploy, configure, and manage F5 load balancers to optimize system performance and ensure efficient distribution of traffic across network resources.

Qualifications & Skills Required:

1. Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
2. Certifications: Relevant certifications in technologies such as Azure, Fortinet, VMware, or similar.
3. Experience: 3–5 years of experience in system administration, database management, and network security.

6. Effective communication skills for liaising with internal teams and customers.
7. Ability to manage complex systems and infrastructure effectively across multiple environments.

Work Allocation & Flexibility:

The time allocation between System Administration and Network & Security will vary depending on operational needs. Typically, candidates will focus on system administration tasks 70% of the time and network & security tasks 30%. However, in some roles, this ratio may be reversed to prioritize Network & Security tasks. This flexibility ensures that we hire adaptable, well-rounded professionals who can excel across all technical areas.
