Roles and Responsibilities

The MEP Site Engineer – Plumbing & Drainage is responsible for organizing, supervising, executing, monitoring, and controlling the Plumbing & Drainage works installation activities under MEP works in residential, commercial, and industrial buildings.

Job Responsibilities

1. Review the approved construction drawings and ensure the required approvals and documentation for the site installation works are available at site.
2. Derive schedule of Plumbing & Drainage works packages from the overall MEP Project schedules and prepare for the site works execution.
3. Plan site resource and materials requirement and coordinate for the delivery of materials and other resources in line with schedules.
4. Manage the site resources, execution, progress, and productivity of Plumbing & Drainage works.
5. Assess the materials requirement at site and compare the same with the bill of materials provided.
6. Manage the team of Supervisors, Foreman, and Charge Hands for the works execution in line with the approved schedules.
7. Set targets, monitor and control the site Plumbing & Drainage works and ensure that the works are carried out within the budgeted quantity of materials, plant & equipment, and labor.
8. Coordinate with subcontractors for the Plumbing & Drainage installations and with other subcontractors for the interface works.
9. Coordination with client and authorities engineers for site works execution.
10. Interaction and coordination with stores for collection of materials in line with the project schedule.

Job Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering with 3 years of experience or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with 5 years of experience.

1. Minimum 3 years of experience in MEP projects Plumbing & Drainage installation works for residential and commercial towers and industrial buildings.
2. Minimum 2 years of experience in MEP projects Plumbing & Drainage installation works in UAE or any other GCC countries.
3. ESCO industry experience preferred.

8. Technical Software Proficiency: Familiarity with engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D) for design and planning.
9. Documentation Skills: Competence in maintaining accurate records of progress, issues, and compliance.
10. Adaptability: Flexibility to respond to changes and unexpected challenges on-site.

Responsibilities:

1. Site Supervision: Overseeing day-to-day construction activities and ensuring work is completed to specifications.
2. Quality Control: Inspecting work for quality and compliance with design and safety standards.
3. Planning: Collaborating with project managers to develop detailed construction plans and schedules.
4. Coordination: Working with architects, engineers, and contractors to facilitate smooth communication and workflow.
5. Reporting: Maintaining records of site progress, issues encountered, and resolutions implemented.
6. Problem Resolution: Addressing any technical or logistical problems that arise on-site.
7. Safety Management: Enforcing safety regulations and ensuring all team members adhere to safety protocols.
8. Resource Management: Overseeing the allocation of materials, equipment, and labor to optimize productivity.
9. Client Liaison: Communicating with clients and stakeholders to provide updates and address concerns.
