Job Summary:
Provide electrical design, technical analysis and/or resolution of engineering problems. Involve with designing, developing and maintaining electrical control systems, machinery, and equipment.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Verify with consultant specification getting approval of materials as per availability at vendor premises and purchase as per priority basis of requirement.
- Review and attend snags as per quality procedure with consultant’s specification and getting approvals.
- Play a lead role in designing and provide technical assistance & resolution for electrical power systems in coordination with MEP building services.
- Provide efficient and professional services in project management, design, estimation, execution, supervision, coordination, and completion of projects.
- Install and hand over all Electrical and Low Current systems including Dimming & Lighting Control System, Data Structure Cabling System, Telecommunication System, CCTV, SMATV, Video Door Entry, Building Intercom System, Door Access Control System, Public Address, Background Central Music System, and Traffic Management System.
- Coordinate with the Client/Consultant, Project Management Team of Main Contractors, Subcontractors, and other service contractors.
- Liaise with authorities like ADDC, DEWA, FEWA, SEWA, TECOM, Municipality, and Civil Defense for all related works.
- Deal with major suppliers for the entire material procurement starting from floating inquiries until finalization of the supplier.
- Prepare Technical Submittal for all Electrical Materials based on Consultants’ approved vendors list.
- Participate in the preparation of shop drawings for Electrical and Extra Low Voltage systems.
- Attend inspections of Consultant, factory visits, and Authorities’ inspections as needed.
- Supervise electrical jobs based on shop drawings and specifications.
- Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports and assess them against the project schedule.
- Ensure the availability of adequate quantity of material.
- Conduct safety toolbox lectures to enforce safety regulations for individuals on the site.
- Raise Inspection requests for work completed.
- Ensure work is executed according to contract specifications, approved design drawings, agreed procedures, and method statements.
- Implement strict adherence to safety rules and regulations.
- Update drawings to fit newly approved modifications for As-Built drawings.
- Check all installations in preliminary.
- Prepare and submit weekly updates of material submittal material log chart and progress monitoring sheet and method statement for consultant review in weekly site meetings.
- Clear with pre-commissioning checklist for testing and commissioning all MEP services.
- Perform other tasks as instructed by immediate head from time to time.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in electrical engineering, with a focus on construction and site management. Luxury villa experience is mandatory.
- Proven experience in managing material procurement, including verifying specifications, obtaining approvals, and coordinating with suppliers.
- Strong knowledge and application of electrical systems, codes, and regulations (ADDC, DEWA, FEWA, SEWA, TECOM, Municipality, Civil Defense).
- Expertise in designing, providing technical assistance, and resolving issues related to electrical power systems in coordination with MEP building services.
- Hands-on experience with installation, commissioning, and handover of Electrical and Low Current systems.
- Proficiency in preparing technical submittals and shop drawings for Electrical and Extra Low Voltage (ELV) systems.
- Experience in conducting and coordinating inspections with Consultants, authorities, and factory visits.
- Ability to supervise electrical jobs based on shop drawings and specifications, ensuring adherence to safety regulations and project schedules.
- Strong organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks, manage resources, and ensure adequate material availability on site.
- Proficiency in updating drawings to reflect approved modifications for As-Built drawings.
- Ability to perform pre-commissioning checks and oversee testing and commissioning of all MEP services.
