Simulation Operations Specialist

The successful candidate will be responsible to:

1. Develop detailed zero-dimensional performance simulation models for internal combustion engines (piston and gas turbine engines) in steady-state and transient conditions.
2. Perform comprehensive thermodynamic analyses of reciprocating engines to identify critical heat and noise sources and evaluate the thermal impact on engine components and performance. Analyze models to pinpoint primary sources of heat and noise generation and propose viable mitigation strategies.
3. Conduct flow analysis within engines, using numerical or electrical circuit analogies to model simplified heat and noise from source to dissipation, enhancing efficiency.
4. Work closely with the Lead researcher in supervision of Master students, identifying opportunities for future research projects, specifying resources, advancing the research capabilities of TII, and developing partnerships with academia and industry.
5. Liaise with superiors to make decisions for priorities and strategic goals.
6. Work with a multi-disciplinary team to develop, verify, and validate complex software systems, maintaining and optimizing them.
7. Thoroughly document modeling processes, findings, and recommendations, providing a solid basis for engineering decisions.
8. Supply critical insights derived from the simulations to support the optimization of engine designs for improved heat/noise management.
9. Provide expert advice and support to cross-functional teams, addressing related challenges and questions.
10. Prepare and present detailed reports/research papers on simulation outcomes, contributing to the broader knowledge base and informing future research directions.
11. Be able to work without constant supervision.
12. Ensure that research activities run with legality and conformity to established regulations (health, safety, ethics).
