As a Service Delivery Supervisor, you will supervise the day-to-day cargo operations by planning and monitoring activities in compliance with the objectives and targets for Cargo and courier products of dnata cargo Terminals, deploying manpower for the section as per the plan, supervising staff to achieve an optimum level of service, maximum space utilization, and on-time performance in line with the operational, safety, and security standards.
In this role, you will:
- Review loads plans and identify special products requiring attention to ensure maximum utilization of space within specified time norms in line with safety standards.
- Plan and communicate requirements to build up teams for loading products for carriage assigned aircraft in line with the priorities and volume/payload available, optimum utilization capacity.
- In collaboration with resource allocators, deploy and ensure optimum use of available resources across respective areas of control, monitor overtime levels and the effective utilization of FTE contingent resources.
- Ensure safety briefings are conducted regularly while intervening when there is risk exposure, role model safe behaviors, and follow up on corrective actions.
- Ensure safety of staff and that they have the knowledge and confidence to work safely by providing support, direction, and being a role model for the desired safety behaviors.
- Communicate with team members to deliver information verbally in a clear, concise, and comprehensive manner.
- Supervise and support the Cargo team to ensure that the productivity targets in different sections (Build up, Break-down, documentation, courier, acceptance, delivery) are achieved.
- Guide staff on duty for any problems anticipated or faced to ensure that the plan is achieved efficiently.
- Effectively review training standards with SDM/Line Manager and in coordination with coaching and compliance coordinator to ensure teams are fully equipped & skilled to handle the assigned work.
- Supervise acceptance, handling, and delivery of import, export, and transfer cargo and documents in line with the policies and procedures to ensure optimum operating efficiency, service, and product quality standards.
- Comply with all relevant safety, quality, and environmental management policies, procedures, and controls to ensure a healthy and safe work environment.
- Implement departmental policies, processes, procedures and provide instructions to the team on the day of operations.
- Implement day-to-day operations assigned and ensure compliance with the established standards and procedures.
- Review discrepancy reports and ensure that corrective measures are implemented to reduce errors. Ensure employees are effectively counseled and early disciplinary/capability action taken/recommended when necessary.
- Monitor inbound and outbound cargo, courier, and special loads movement to ensure that the requirements of key stakeholders are met.
- Collate and process data from various sources into appropriate database to ensure accuracy of information input in the system.
Qualifications & Experience
To be considered for this role, you must meet the below requirements:
- High School with a Certificate (12 years of Schooling).
- Experience of 4 to 6 years in Air Cargo or Ground Handling Company.
- Good spoken and written communication.
- Understanding of cargo live animal regulation and load control.
- Knowledge of One Cargo or similar GHA systems, Familiarity of working with an Appointment/Dock Management system and ALTARS or equivalent attendance management system.
