Senior Water/Wastewater Design Engineer

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Senior Water/Wastewater Design Engineer to join our team! In this role you will determine methods and solutions for complex engineering problems and select the most efficient and economical manner in meeting the objectives.

What You'll Be Doing:

1. May plan, direct, and supervise the work of a major engineering unit or project requiring a largescale expenditure of manpower and financial investment.
2. Leads other Engineers and design personnel in technical excellence and growth in the Quality Improvement Process.
3. Provides technical consultations for interdisciplinary analytical studies and analyses.
4. Provides input to CAD Designer/Drafters working on the same project. The engineer will be required to carry out CAD related tasks while using special 3D software and model creation.
5. Ensures compliance of design with all applicable codes and regulations, providing the seal and signature of the professional engineer when required by statute or contract.
6. Prepares material/equipment specifications and purchase requisitions; reviews supplier data; witnesses shop tests, assists with assessing supplier manufacturing capabilities.
7. Develops operation and maintenance plans; develops standard operating procedures; prepares O & M manuals and may conduct onsite training of personnel.
8. Conducts surveys, studies, and site investigations. Performs reliability, availability, maintenance (RAM) and safety analyses.
9. Maintains affiliation with professional societies to keep abreast of current technologies.
10. The engineer shall be able to independently carry out designs of collection, conveyance, and disposal of pressure networks. The engineer shall have advanced experience and knowledge of preparing and developing hydraulic models for pressure network, design reports and conversant with design software like Bentley WaterCAD / WaterGems, Bentley Hammer and WANDA software. Knowledge of latest software like Civil 3D, Dynamo, Python, Open Roads, Open Utilities, GIS is preferred.
11. Shall be familiar with load demand calculations for large private developments and/or large government projects. Shall be conversant with Water/Irrigation/Firefighting Authority regulations such as DEWA, ADDC/ADWEA, DM, ADM, DCD, ADCD and other relevant authorities within the Gulf region.
12. Working knowledge of planning, designing and construction of water supply systems, including water treatment, pumping systems, intake structures, etc.
13. Shall have basic experience in creating utility cross sections as per requirements of local authorities in the Gulf region like RTA (Dubai), DMT (Abu Dhabi), MOMRA (KSA), etc.
14. Preparation of technical specifications and design reports. Shall be conversant with the British and American codes as well as DEWA/DM regulations for the design of wastewater systems.
15. Shall have experience of liaising with service provider agencies for obtaining NOCs and Design Approvals, etc.
16. Helps determine budget estimates and staffing requirements for the defined scope and schedule. May assist with other administrative and technical duties.
17. Recommends and prepares technical papers.
18. Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

1. Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (or related field).
2. At least 8+ years of related work experience.
3. Potential to perform in a lead capacity, excellent written and oral communications skills, and familiarity with industry practices and regulations are required.
4. Must possess a thorough knowledge of current technology and be able to select and apply appropriate engineering software for use on project.

What Desired Skills You'll Bring:

1. Master's degree would be an advantage.
2. UAE or GCC experience is highly preferred.
